Guest bakes Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 Plus the Belgian squeekers that are brought over for Blackpool etc yep
BLACK W F Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 theres more unions than the rpra in the uk it dont affect me thats for sure so yous all know what to do join another union i bet they change that rule fast
kirky Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 I think thay will bring out a metal insert that can be cliped into rings, think rpra has always had this rule of solid ring with metal inserts. also read in bhw earlier this year that full plastic rings when heated could be streched to fit on old birds then when thay went cold returned to there normal size from belg magerzine translated by skarthi harry eade.
pjc Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 its not only RPRA that have banned them other countries have done the same.
BLACK W F Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 phil rpra are not a country they only represent some members
Guest tom123 Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 phil rpra are not a country they only represent some members to true they dont represent us (whpu) we pay our union a registration fee of 25p per ring to enable us to enter into competition
Guest neil Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 metal inner not specified in welsh homing union hand book, just a recognised ring of any other union registered to new owner. no doubt we welsh trust everyone Neil

Guest neil Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 just had a look at the b.h.w. notice and it needs more of an explination than to just quote the rule book, the implications to fanciers with birds raced this year carrying belge 09 rings deserve more answers and probably an answer to why they were allowed to race this year and not next year. If i was effected i would be looking to put a notice of motion for a rule change in the agm, nobody has said that the plastic rings are unsafe only that the present rules do not cover these rings as they have no metal inserts Neil
Tony C Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 I think it only right that BELG09 rung pigeons should be allowed to compete. Think the RPRA should get their emergency rules committee to sort this one out pronto.
BLACK W F Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 think the members should just call for an emergency meeting and over turn that rule and get shot of half the jumped up ar$e holes with their stupid rules they need a wind of change
pigeonpete Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 What a load of rubbish, The r.p.r.a trying to encourage new fanciers??? i think not. I have 2 2009 belg latebreds, :-/ and a 2007 belg rung bird. And was thinking of a visit to lier myself :-/ :-/ Think this needs changing pronto, All the one loft races will lose money under r.p.r.a rules, Are they doing anything to help people stay in the sport? :X :X

Is it actualy a new rule or as it says a reminder of an existing rule in which case anybody who has been racing belg 09 birds has been breaking the rules?
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 Dont usually keep past copies of the RPRA rules but I have looked back in the ones I have and cant find anything about not be able to use plastic rings, only thing I can find which might cover it is rule 97,"The council has the authority to designate the size, shape,Composition, type and quality of ring which shall be issued by the association," but this covers rings issued by the RPRA I would think, anyone know of another rule which might cover it.
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 so that means also no belgium fanciers aloud to enter one lofts race in uk what about the belgium fanciers that send pigeons over to the like's of rpra yb,yearling races have they got to ring there pigeons with our rings Foreign rung birds are not allowed in the RPRA 1 loft race.
Guest tom123 Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 they go on about biliing these reings etc etc and trying to put them on older pigeons but has anyone tried it no i guess not my loft is full of dutch and belgium pigeons and i cant see any way these rings can be adapted by heat an be of any use afterwards ! yes granted anything plastic when heated can be flexible but club officials would notice any alteration has you wouldnt be able to get the ring or anything else back to its natural shape once cooled down it would have to be remoulded and how could that be done on a birds leg i think its just people put in offical places flexing there muscles once again

Get real, i am trying my hardest not to swear!!! I will be writing to the general manager regarding this, it doesnt really affect me, but i think the more people that complain the better it will be, or are we just going to sit back and let someone else sort it as per usual, ?? :-/ VERY VERY disolusioned :X unless i am reading it completley wrong? i have been racin only 4 years but have never heard or seen this rule before?
joe61 Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 the rpra dont get much right in my book but i think they got this right as they must of consulted with other unions and found a fault with the 09 rings theymust of carried out tests and decided to ban the ring from racing other unions will follow suit in due course this is just my opinion oh happy days
REDCHEQHEN Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 The NEHU were given a tape of someone who manipulated a plastic ring and got it on an old bird
demolition man Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 Not just belgium rings but any that do not have a metal insert built into them! NWHU SAME CONTRUCTION NO METAL INSERT DON'T KNOW IF IT'S TRUE OR NOT
OLDYELLOW Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 i wonder how many club winners will be rejected by this rule ????? as if there rings are not recognised then neither are any positions won by birds with these rings on :X :X :X :X :X
joe61 Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 rpra should have said 2010 rings so close the door the horse has bolted oh happy days
BLACK W F Posted November 6, 2009 Report Posted November 6, 2009 ah well i will just need to breed off all my belg rung ones lol
