away from the birds ?

i am looking for details of what and how you leave your birds when away from the loft,ie at Blackpool for a few days. do you put in extra drinkers ,i know some hopper feed ,i thought about giving extra corn ,but dont know the best way around it??                    andy.

my mam and little sister coming down to feed and water my birds while im at blackpool just going to measure the right amount of corn out for them then all they got to do is feed them it and change the water over in the fountains

hopper feed them then andy mate fill an hopper up the right amount of corn to last them for the days you will be away

I use these drinkers, they take 6 lts

and I have these that take 30 ltrs

I dont let any one else look after mine now use to let girl freind until i came home one day and found all my stock birds sitting on the loft instead of inside with the door wide open lol

100% Barley in a hopper like chickadee has shown ( more than one grain and they'll eat what they like and throw out the rest) Crushed garlic in their drinking water.

cause you got no mates  ;D They will be fine for 3 days on hoppers, i use the caroline drinkers for corn and water :-) add a bit of cider vinegar or glycerine to prevent freezing,

if you have an old plastic drinker, cut a 3 ince whole in the top and place a length of 3inch plastic pipe down it, leave about an inch from the bottom, you can then fill the pipe with food, you can make the pipe as long as you want

thank you ,pigeonpete ,all my mates will be on the same bus. Tony C ,yes will be happy to leave them with barley only . and Fifer ,good tip that ,and i have those materials to hand so will look to make some up next week. thanks again.                  andy.

Yes they will be on 100% barley when Blackpool show is on  and I will be getting ones similar to these made

your main thing will be water  get a few extra fountains  in

Less food on the Thursday night, feed them before you go away on Friday morning, then after the feed, fill the feeders up to the top, but make sure you have plenty water in, they will be fine mate, trust me am a Lawyer,  ;D ;D ;D ;D then go away and enjoy yerself at the show,   lucky bugger,

That is exactly what I have done in the past, works a treat. Only problem is if its a mix they scatter what they dont like looking for their favourite seeds.
