Guest Davy Fleming Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 IT IS AN EXTREMELY SORRY STATE OF AFFAIRS WHEN THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MEMBERS WHO WILL GO TO THERE ANNUAL PRESENTATION. MOSTLY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GETTING SOMETHING AND THAT TO ME IS VERY UNSPORTSMANLIKE AND DISRESPECTFUL . I HAVE SAID IT UMPTEEN TIMES WHILST CHAIRING MEETINGS THAT I WOULD HOLD A DANCE FOR 6 PEOPLE AND MAKE SURE ALL MONIES COME OUT OF THE CLUB OR FED FUNDS . THIS IS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE SEASON WHEN YOU GO TO THESE FUNCTIONS WITH YOUR WIFE/HUSBAND PARTNERS YOU MAKE THAT WALK TO THE TOP TABLE TO COLLECT YOUR SILVERWARE THAT TO ME IS AN EXTREMELY PROUD MOMENT. ALWAYS NICE TO GET A BIT OF MONEY ON THE WAY BUT I PERSONALLY WOULD PLUMP FOR THE SILVERWARE EVERY TIME SO ANYONE THAT DOESN'T GO BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GETTING ANYTHING YOU SHOULD HOLD YOUR HEAD IN SHAME AND THINK WHAT IT MAY BE LIKE WHEN IT IS YOUR TURN

Guest bigda Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 we in coatbridge held our presentation last week it was well attended the food was great we used to have bands at £500 a time good bands 150-200 attend great nights but now days we have changed to suit we now and i think all clubs should adopt to keep the presentations going is pick a club social club who at the time of year is there show of the month, and have food and are able to give you tables to have your presentation in then when thats all done , you just go into the main hall to carry on with the night that Way your secretary is not sweating blood awaiting names and places to book for your own functions and if you have only 10 members then it has cost your club nothing as you only order meals for the members that have put there names down, none of this left to the last minute stuff this is our first year and we found it to be grate and still carry on at no expense to the club now we don't need to rely on any member again making up his mind
ALF Posted November 2, 2009 Author Report Posted November 2, 2009 Well it looks like we will have a good night at our dance and the hall should be pretty full as i'm not long off the phone to Peter White the sec of the Burnbank club and it looks like a good few of the Burnbank members will be coming to our dance aswell and we will be prsenting both lots of trophies on the night.Lets hope it is a success and we could look to make it an regular annual event with both clubs 8) 8) 8)

Blue Tooner Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Our club hasnae had a dance for a long time . Secretary delivers our trophies in a box. When we mention a presentation, most of our members aren't interested :-/ Surely one night a year isn't much to ask. After the last young bird race you won't see some of our members until the first race the following year :-/
