Guest frank dooman Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 I would just like to hear from distance fanciers in Scotland if any would like to try this race next year and if so what would you expect regarding marking station etc.
Guest frank dooman Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 it seams that not allot of interest i would like your reasons if we dont know why you wont/cant send we cant sort it lets hear how you feel

me Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 isnt it going with the snrpc if so count me out who asked you? Frank was only asking pigeon fanciers who are not bitter and twisted.
Guest frank dooman Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 who asked you? Frank was only asking pigeon fanciers who are not bitter and twisted. nice to see you back me! but i did ask for all replys and i was expecting that fair play to tim now its out lets us explain that its a NFC race and he might not be the only one thinking that
alec guinness Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 had plans to send last year frank,2 hens 1 6yr old 1 7yr old,the 6 yr old hen lost her tail at leicester and also half a wing, the 7 yr old scored well at the national from newbury and was very close to going but alas her cock was lost from around the loft 2 weeks before the race, maybe next year but with a large distance programme it will be hard,as for marking stations any where in central scotland, maybe a wee edge needed with regards winning money. :) :) john.ps i do think its a great venture.
Novice Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 If I had the quality experienced birds I would certainly have a go
Chris Little Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Was intending on going this year with my 2 best channel hens...... however.. one bashed her wing, the other never returned from loft exercise presumed hawked All being well will have something for next year A great venture

Guest frank dooman Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 good to hear chris looking forward to seeing you boys from the south dennis has got the bug i think
Novice Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 There were fanciers timing in from Barcelona in the 60's 1050 miles into Ayrshire without the benefits of modern feeding techniques. We must be able to better that.

I need to improve on that first.
Guest frank dooman Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 Struggling at 500 miles at the moment. I need to improve on that first. i can understand that but this race is perfect for that old timmers last stand and if its only 1 bird, i can aggree its a bit on the expencsive side but would it not be a great thing to have a couple of birds in your loft that you can have raced 700+mls

That's so I don't feel alone in the loft. I might just give it a bash

Guest frank dooman Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 we haven't got the old fashioned pigeons from yesteryear, iys all van this and van that i think we have still got them cameron but we chose to molly coddle them too much and we the fancier dont believe in our birds

alvagate Posted October 24, 2009 Report Posted October 24, 2009 some times frank when you know you have good birds you have to put them up against the best and its a great chance for the scottish lads to show there birds have it
