bluey Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 What water is given to the birds on the transporter ? Is it "local water " or what has been taken to the lib site ? Many moons ago it was a rule that Lancashire birds were given Lancashire water. However, I give water that is over 24 hrs old from the tap. I believe this gives time for flouride additives to evaporate/dissipate/weaken. Hope you get my drift/tide/flow
degi Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 sat water probiotic glucose sun :: cider vinigar mon :: garlic tue :: :: wed water vits thurs :: garlic cider vin fri ::

Tumley Lofts Stud Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Have a look at: www.tumleylofts.co.uk/widowhood.htm there are many feeding and watering techniques but this is what we do every week of the year. We don't use any medication.

Hope you get my drift/tide/flow I have read for some time on letting the water settle theory and to be honest did believe there could be something in it. But i am at present building a house for a race horse owner which the stables are already built, and decided to ask the vets and the stable hands if they allow the water to stand for 24hrs as i have heard this is common practice in most modern stables. There reply was that they have never heard of such practices and that it was a lot off nonsense, just to add this is a major stud with millions invested in the finest race horses. So since having this conversation i have to say i no longer believe the water settling theory.

adam owen Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 which 13 days do you not give garlic lmao cant belive i just wrote tha lol
Guest redlad24 Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 does cider vinegar not kill both good and bad bacteria? thus giving the cider vinegar and probiotic a few days between????
Guest Freebird Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Water straight from the tap with cider vinigar. Vits once a fortnight. Boil the water and let stand over night if medication is required.
Tony C Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 The more days you can give them plain water the better (I also let it stand for 24hrs). Best to mix stuff in with their feed.
Guest IB Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I saw the thread go up, and let it be as I mistakenly thought it was a question relating to water-based treatments. Basic water routine says it all for me, thats what they get, plain water changed at least once daily winter, twice daily other times, 7 days a week off-season. During racing, weekends only, a little honey in water coming home from the race, and Saturday night through to Monday morning, fresh crushed garlic.
wilkins Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 one week i give cider vin sunday -tues the following week i give garlic sunday to tues every wednesday i use a iron/iodine product which for now is impact
