I would echo what the others have said, look at who's getting good results in your area at the distance you want to compete at and see if you can obtain birds direct from them or find out where they got their birds from and got there. Otherwise looking further afield the same applies look at the results of what the breeders pigeons are achieving and if it is what you want, give them a call.

Just looked through my records and have found out that I have the nest sister to one of the parents of the winner!
-
Cheers guys. I would love to purchase them but again I'll have to see if they are willing to part with them and for how much!!! Also I didn't hear the result direct from them so I need to find their contact details which I may not have!!!
-
Cheers Harry. I'm over the moon. For a strain that were famous in the early '80s to still be winning top honors some 30+ years later is fantastic

1St National Ace Pigeon Malta 2013 Leen Boers
Tumley Lofts Stud replied to Tumley Lofts Stud's topic in Notice Board
He won the Best Long Distance National Average without going to the last race!!! I think he had other races but these are only the races that score for the Ace Bird prizes. He didn't race as a young bird!! -

He isn't up for sale! The breeder/racer has already been offered more than I can afford! I still have the grandsire here breeding. The grandmother is also the mother of a 1st National winner in the UK which we were able to buy back and is currently at stock. I have 2 children coming from "Sonic Blue" later this year :-) Thanks for the kind comments -

Thanks for the kind comments. Shame that a lot of people found the birds at Blackpool were sub standard, perhaps you should have come to our stan Just need to put one thing right, we only breed 500 birds a year! We had 90 for sale, it was our best Blackpool ever with more reports of winners including 1st Section NIPA and Combine winners. I hope you all had fun though. All the best for 2011 season

Tumley Lofts Stud will donate a pair. I would love to donate more to this great cause but haven't got enough to spare! Well done for taking on organising this.
-
Thanks for the recommendations Just for your interest, look at our home page www.tumleylofts.co.uk and at the top you'll see two results from 2010 both these results are our Aardens!!!! Plus many others reported this year! Hope your seasons are going well
-
I didn't say I didn't appreciate the program as I'm always very interested in wild life programs as the more we learn the better for everyone/thing. The point is where is the positive advertising for racing pigeons, as the positive public perception on hawks being increased all the time!
-
You don't consider your pigeons to be your pets then?!?!
-
I caught bits of this program last night. Does anyone know if the RPRA was aware this was going to be broadcast? I guess they didn't! As if they did, why did they not air any concerns about broadcasting domestic pets being ripped apart on national TV! If this was a cat or a dog the hole nation would be up in arms.
-
Thank you. They have all gone. I hope those of you who were lucky enough to get some have sucess with them. All the best for 2010 season, it's coming up quick ??)
-
