This may seem a stupid question for most of you but when you let your birds out after the winter etc. do you have to encourage them to excercise or do you just let them get on with it.

Of course you have to encourage of kick them out. Great sign that they aren't fit!

When the batter the door aside and clap out like the clappers, then you ca start to train them. Fit birds train to get fitter.... No one or anything can train to get fit! You become fit to train!

just back from first trainer....they beat me and were still excersizing. i've been building them up slowly round the loft for about a week. i'm very pleased....it can't last (dizzy)

I have a group of 15 hens in training. They have had 6 tosses.

The widowhood cocks have 3 nests with young which will be away this week. The ones without young are getting with it now.

They have started to fly for fun and are beginning to get up high. A very good sign. I hope to get them ont he road next week.
