Delboy Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Plenty of us have to work and have children at school who need picked up and watched till later on when our wifes finish work so we cant all be there at the beginning of marking but we knew there would be plenty of doos coming from our fed so maybe an extra marking station over in the west of the fed would have helped as it seemed most of the west section were at Uddingston at the same time..as for getting off my *expletive removed* and giving you a hand it was that busy i never got in the club hut for well over 2 hrs and most of us were wanting home to get fed not go to the pub!!! ;D ;D ;D Always thinking of yer belly
Novice Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 I had 9 birds in this convoy which showed a complete dip in form from previous weeks. I lost 6 including 2 individual winners and a fed topper. I have spent the days since this race looking at my management to try to rectify any mistakes I may have made in my preparation. I only reason I can find is the prolonged stay in the transporter but I do know that very strong cross winds were experienced by the empty transporters in the Manchester area. It would be beneficial to me to know the facts and whether my birds were convoyed in this unconventional manner to move forward. But----it's not worth falling out about. Well said Bart
sapper756 Posted June 17, 2009 Author Report Posted June 17, 2009 Well folks this coming weekend sees our 2nd SNFC inland race, so who are sending? and what are you sending? how far is it for your birds to fly? Ok "ladies" can we get back to the original question I posed? I think I will be sending 4 cocks and 2 hens, 400 miles 1386yds to my loft. GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE SENDING, fingers crossed for a good race
Novice Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 I have about 8 2 year olds and above some may go to this race but I am hnhappy about the North Westerly wind forecast so I have yet to decide.
naedoos Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 As i said factual nothing more, have no interest in it. why post it then :-/
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 To Novice and SNFC members. Because of the huge entry into Newbury three 7.5 tonne vehicles were used and once these were loaded to capacity there was 7 baskets extra, to combat this problem a relief vehicle was used - not a van as the tittle tattlers and the political point scorers have quoted but a pick up truck that is the same as any other transporter with Racking for 32 baskets, fibreglass roof, drinkers that run the full length of the vehicle. The pigeons that were on this vehicle were from the South section to which they had outstanding race and returns inc 100 positions within the first 300 open positions. Gareth
