Your spot on Gangster. The A74/M74 is a very scary place for our pigeons to be.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 aye delboy we cleared the route for your birds percy turning birds spoke to somebody who was at the liberation and he said our birds never cleared for ages , some were flying around all day [ he lives there], but heh what does he know ,
Delboy Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 spoke to somebody who was at the liberation and he said our birds never cleared for ages , some were flying around all day [ he lives there], but heh what does he know , Why do convoyers not report these things.Longtown maybe a bad lib point if the birds arent clearing and surely communication is the key to successful racing.Too much cloak & dagger crap in the pigeon game.
frank-123 Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 i worked at the longtown auction market a few years ago seemed a great liberation point delboy also seen birds at ripon not leaving the site a few years back if the birds never cleared the site why not? hawks up ahead!!! maybe

The main problems I can see with the Lanarkshire birds is your yearlings. They,ve not been anywhere near far enough as youngsters, 5 or 6 Kelso's, at 50 -60 miles. Gone are the days of taking it easy with the youngsters to let them mature, the modern breeds/strains are a totally different make up from the old days. Also there will be a lot of late breds experiencing a large liberation for the first time and the inexperienced monopoly hold back a lot of the rest. Also fitness early in the season can play a part. Finally your liberating in the hot bed of peregrine country and the longer the batch circles the race point, the easier attraction for the peregrine. Good Luck to all for the rest of the season on the west coast, cos I think you'll need it!!!!!
