Midland fed liberated at 10.45 from Lockerbie, Lanarkshire liberated at 10.30 roughly 13 miles further .Both feds flying same route and most definately have met with each other on route  but Midland fed birds doing 1600s velocity and Lanarkshire doing mostly 1200s.Why is this ??? PERCY STRIKES AGAIN.

aye delboy we cleared the route for your birds

percy turning birds

You might be right Bart.I had 6 doos timed in 5 seconds on clock. My returns were 21/21. Two totally different races

so that was nice of us to clear the route next week you go first

i got 13/14 but it took some birds 3-4 hours to fly 60 odd mile

Maybe that can still be blamed on unfit birds Bart as it's only the 2nd race but we'll see how we go when we get to the 4th race when all the birds should be race fit and no excuses for them apart from percy ;)

We should be convoying together anyway. Only politics stops us from doing this.

Your spot on Gangster. The A74/M74 is a very scary place for our pigeons to be.

Why do convoyers not report these things.Longtown maybe a bad lib point if the birds arent clearing and surely communication is the key to successful racing.Too much cloak & dagger crap in the pigeon game.

The main  problems  I can see with the Lanarkshire birds is your yearlings. They,ve not been anywhere near far enough as youngsters, 5 or 6 Kelso's, at 50 -60 miles. Gone are the days of taking it easy with the youngsters to let them mature, the modern breeds/strains are a totally different make up from the old days. Also there will be a lot of late breds experiencing a large liberation for the first time and the inexperienced monopoly hold back a lot of the rest. Also fitness early in the season can play a part. Finally your liberating in the hot bed of peregrine country and the longer the batch circles the race point, the easier attraction for the peregrine. Good Luck to all for the rest of the season on the west coast, cos I think you'll need it!!!!!

unfit birds should not be sent to any race whether it is 60 miles or 600
