Guest asha Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Its more for the youngbird specialists who like plenty of age on the babies so they can motivate on the sex drive/repressed sexual comtact, but pointless for distance minded fanciers, with nothing worth while in youngbird season.
Guest Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 next week for me what about the doo's.lol
wilkins Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 next week for me will your rings be ready ?
Guest tom123 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 mine are paired now ,they will be split now until the 5th dec when they will be repaired and in time for the rings
just ask me Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 but surely u can pair up later and go on darkness if u bred up later i think u need to train them as early in life as possible and train up to the racing i think if u leave til everyone else starts IE ppl that bred in late january or Feb young birds need constant training up to the racing in other words u cant start then leave it for a while then start back up again
Chairman Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 there is'nt any young bird sickness around in the cold winter months, thats why they pair up early myself included and you can get natural darkies with age on them and fly the young cocks on the widowhood system. All youngsters that hatch out of the egg before the end of january will at the age of 30 days fall into a full body moult naturally. It has something to do with the short daylight hours confusing the bird that winter is upon it and projects it into full body moult, this begins to slow up when the daylight hours begin to lenghthen. To be forwarned is to be forarmed, these youngsters need to start training at @ 12weeks of age most fanciers take there old birds training and nearer home on the return journey toss the youngsters, as they say "all roads lead to Rome" or could that be disaster?
irish_mat Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 This is my 2nd year racing pigeons i am going to do the darkness system but not sure when to pair up i dont want the rings to be late as i got them late from the club im in when sould i pair up and when do u get 2009 rings and how do u order them to make sure i dont get them too late.
