REDROCKET Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Would anyone like to hazzard a guess, as to how long they will take to reach Fife,339miles :-/ i'd be at the loft at 8hrs if i were you 40mph gets them home to you in 8.5 hrs ish and thats not imposible depending on the wind of course
alex wight Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 thats aboot 40mph they weren't doing that from ripon today in a NE wind into the north west fed Racing has been a strange one for us fifers. we had an east wind from wakefield and was won in the furthest club east (st andrews) and the velocity was 1800+. It had been blowing a gale up there all day, so was a cracking race for The winner John Harkess. You never can tell, i know with the north in it, will make it that bit harder, time will tell.
Guest bigda Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 very good can you predict how long you'll wait for you first one lol no, but there was some one on here say to be possative so i am, and me being me i will say my birds are now broke to the transporter. ;D ;D ;D ;D

cheeseman Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 if the wind is owt like yesterday it would be a 1200yd day(just my opinion)
frank-123 Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 may well be timing on tuesday as well if the east wind blows
blaz Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Selby yesterday 168 mile plenty of rain for birds to come through east wind 3 and a half hours birds where wet on arrival .so my guess for birds for fife 7.5 to 8.5 for tomorrow
slinky slitheroe Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 may well be timing on tuesday as well if the east wind blows It will take a good one the morra guys.
Guest bigda Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 as 40% of the birds have no chance in the race tomorrow of making it home, the other sixty% are on a par now, as the magic feeding is all gone now, and the body and belly starts to sag , hens that where not checked for eggs have now laid birds that dont like this type corn go thin, yearlings will follow rather than race, the old timers will come to the fore so if you have 3 year old and older, count your self lucky to be in the 60% with a chance of winning the national ;)

Guest bigda Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 personally i think they should have been brought back home mate, that's the truth, as we in the lanarkshire have more fish to fry than the national, we dont have a say in the matter as yet, but we will come the agm, that you can be sure of. :-/
Guest uphallhen Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Why even bother with the trouble of racing...Bring them back in transporter and let bigda do the first 100 in result from his wisdom knowledge ;Dbigda can for get about 2morrow. To hard a wind for the sprint men. ;D ;D
