Pego Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 27 out of 35 Witton Castle with Fife Fed. Clocked 11-50 from 8-50 lib. We had 22 within a hour of first bird but then they dried up. :'( Only had another 1 this morning :'( 28/35
b.massey Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 I got my young AB bird from Taylorsloft home today from yesterday.... 10/18.... I would say the 8 to come are the 8 of our best young birds!!! They have been well in rhe 4 races they've had, then bang all gone? I know our birds and the ones we never got have always beat the ones training and racing this year, Yet they are home and the best is lost. I think leaders have hit something and the later birds have got through. Would explain a little why they were 30-45 mins behind expected times. In fact our 4th pigeon had clay all up both legs so this bird has went down for water and still came back in front of 60% of convoy. We are pig sick as it is 8 cocks to come and they were due to be stopped for widowhood yearling next year
b.massey Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 1 more just dropped. 11/18. Still a bit shocked as weather is blowing a gale and raining. So happily suprised to see him drop down

frank-123 Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 still 3 from 31 heard of some birds home today but not many
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 Terrible now 7 home from 37 pigeons sent which like many other fanciers were in fantastic condition with 1 of them coming today. Ive been in the sport since 1983 and father since 1952 and without question the worst federation race we have ever encountered. Flabbergasted
Guest stevie-b Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 hope the lanarkshire get more birds home i have some real good friends there for who i am gutted
TheHigg Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 is the race still on next saturday(puke)
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 I will second that mate Gareth, you may remember I only returned to the sport last year, getting some nice pigeons from some of the guys in Lanarkshire,as well as other places. Stared racing this young bird season started with 22 for racing, down two 7 only been to two races. Hard to take such disappiontment. However i was well aware that this can happen anytime when we all try and race at the same time. Gareth i wholehartedly agree with your thoughts on midweek young bird racing half a dozen races would prove this theory spot on. Cheers Rab Smith (6/14 turns out to be good)

Kyleakin Lofts Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 [face=Times][/face] New to the sport last year. YB's training with Ayrshire Fed this year. Had 1 race Carnwath 8/8 returns. 3 weeks off for family reasons then into Dunbar. Sent 10; 3 new birds from 2nd round 7 from 1st race. 8/10 returns at the moment. 1 dropped at 4.20 today with tear at crop; 2nd round bird. 1st bird back from 2nd round. Fairly pleased with returns, but would like 10/10 as everyone else would. Hope those who have suffered worse than me get them back, just as I hope mine work back.
alex wight Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 Just had 2 pigeons return from witton castle yesterday. one at 17:02 and the other 17:39. Thats me 17/19 so as you can imagine compared to others i,ve done really well. I just hope the pigeons return soon, good luck all.
