Have had 8 young bird races and lost 1 from 26 raced - which was on bank holiday Monday just gone  (178 miles)

sent 16 today (some moulting badly despite being on the dark) 202 miles

my last young bird race I'm sending to is next Saturday, will probably be down to 10/12 youngsters in good enough feather, youngsters dropping flights 2 at a time unfortunately

You should count yourself lucky to get two out of three Cowman. We sent 10 Ybs to NFC Fougeres and haven't seen a feather. Winners were doing 1300 up the east side of the country but in this area it was a disaster. The few fanciers who did bother to send after seeing the forecast for strong west/nwest winds in the Channel were fortunate to get any at all and those which did make it were mainly doing below 800ypm. Incidentally several of ours had already been over the Channel twice in recent weeks.
