There is  a loft in the west who has scored 23 out of the last 24 years in the Nationals, it certainly needs no excuses, and there are other lofts which have better records than some you have mentioned so get your facts right before making rash statements.

well if this man can score 23 out of 24 there.s no excuse for the rest. there.s  ur answer. poorer pigeon men now

prob both!

a bit of a rash statement Phil when you probably don't know very many fanciers that fly in the west of Scotland ;) one of them in particular was a very good friend of mine ,Norman Orr who a few years back was the only man in the west section to have timed in every SNFC  race, from the shortest inland to the longest from Tours  600 plus miles [ maybe Gareth Rankin or somebody else will know the exact year ] but there are quite a few others that were not included in the first post who also fly in the west and they have had great results consistently as well.

Yes he did have a few good results again this year, I am very happy that I have a couple of pairs of his birds at stock which were off his best as at the time I did quite a few favors for him and he re paid me with some great birds

i reckon the west will win a national 2010  been a few knocking at the door the last few years

my father  was brought up in the east when he moved to hamilton in 1972 he said it took him ten years to get a decent team that could compete in the west

when he was in edinburgh he timed quite regular from the longer races

the best post yet a man that sees it the way it is .you have either got it or youve not if you havent got it blame your loft location blame the bop why not look in the mirror and think why cant i get my doos from distance the answer will be right in front of you . this year my doos flew very well in the fed winning the fed averages also this year i sent doos to 3 channel races and never timed in .the reason being either the my doos cant do 600 mile or down to my man management of them for the long distance . my answer for not timing in not the doos but me for the way i raced them thinking i could put them every week and still get them from across the pond . and by the way i got a doo home from the 3 races but late which i was glad with and those same doos will go back across this year in a totaly different nest condition . i think when some guys go on about the west section they go on about the likes of elgin forres inverness but no you never hear them blame loft location or bop they just get on with what they enjoy and thats racing there doos . and by the way take a straight line from france to the west section then do the same for the north section and you west boys are hard done by dry your eyes

well Robbie you called that one spot on theres some guys could not fly a kite on a windy day and blame everything for it but the real reason themselves well said from a true honest fancier calls it the way it is  :P :P :P

I do agree with a lot of your points mate.. but hypothetically speaking in each of those channel races your birds could have been out in front.. and then hit a wire or snacthed with a BOP.. and your now putting the blame down on to either the birds or your mangement..

Thats a big factor now in the West.. the BOP situation is so bad.. that you can never really tell what's happening to the doos..

And i fear in a lot of cases.. fanciers are changing birds and systems too often, when in a lot of cases the blame might not have fell on the birds or managment.. just an opinion..

the best question to ask is this  HOW MANY BIRDS FROM TOP LOFTS IN THE EAST ARE WINNING AT NATIONAL LEVEL FOR TOP FLIERS IN THE WEST .

upto 250mile wind and loft position play apart in the results i would say, but the further you go the more the pigeon and the man come into it and above 500mile only good doos and gud men will get them i think.
