Ny-San-Dry Cow Cubicle Dry Powder Disinfectant - Full Pallet: 40 x 25 kg polysacks

A Blend of Oyster Shell Flour, Aromatic Oils and Selouron 1000.

 

Naturally occuring ingredients, safe to use, pleasant aroma, non-harmful if ingested.  Strong, Anti-Viral, Anti-Bacterial, Anti-Fungal sanitiser for healthier animals, lower somatic cell counts and fewer cases of mastitis.

 

High Absorbency Factor - absorbs moisture and ammonia for a fresher environment.

£20/25kg almost half the price of Stalosan cheaper by the pallet :-/

 

what price a bag of lime, a box of  scented talc,  and mixed with a

box of  lice powder,  £10 what  do  you think of that ;)

i think the only reason farmers don't use lime is its not good for growing grass  or silage    but there is not Manny things like living in lime  I use  lime  3 cans 12oz  lime 3 cans of sand  mix in bucket  sprink lice powder, sprinkle   shake vac  enough to do week  find it  all right on floor or over grills light covering

used if for two year after been told about nasties that i once had

IE wet droppings puddles at times found out the birds where living in  hamlet town, and mice city,  didn't know it was that bad till i videoed  the loft and set a infra red camera up to record by god this place was like the  circus with trapeze artists,  long jumpers,   rope climbers,   all sorts of acts even seen a cat sitting on  the landing board to scared to  jump down in the garden i put blocks down but was thinking this stuff  no good as i though it was breeding more got red blocks again thought this was Viagra for the pests  but was assured no  it was  now that they have done away with the bin bags the mice and rats are finding it harder to get grub  so i now keep on top of the we c-nts

Farmers do use lime still.All depends on the soil type.Sandy soils are too acidic to grow some crops so lime is used to neutralise this acidity.

where would i get a bag of lime fae mate in lanarkshire

 

Galloway & McLeod in Stonehouse have it ;) Last time i bought it it was about £6.50 for a 25kg bag

I use lime. Garden lime. Damp cloth to rub it in. Or make it into a thoick paste and paint it on. A little sprinkled in the drinker and left to settle is a good preventive to Y/B sickness.

Not used Talc, or lice powder though...

If you have a problem with Paratyphoid, an observation by Dr. Chalmers gives some food for thought:

 

Whenever you are faced with an outbreak of paratyphoid infection in your birds, the first thing to avoid is the

use of lime or any other alkaline substance on floors or perches. Reason: paratyphoid bacteria (and E. coli) like

alkaline conditions which actually favor multiplication, something you want to avoid at all costs. Floor

dressings such as sodium acid bisulfite create acidic conditions that these bacteria don't favor for reproduction.

 

For what it is worth. Something to think about.
