louella do what louella have always done they buy in the top bloodlines at ,sprint,middle and long distance.

then they make the same lines available to the working man ,as 1 time the working man could not afford them.

but then its upto the fancier to get the best out of them.

their birds do seem to have a habit of founding lofts for a lot of people(so the proof of the pudding) is in the eating as they say but they dont all breed winners but then again neither do anyone else's birds breed winners every nest.

you pay your money you take your chance but you take your chance with birds chocka block with winning genes.

Dont you think that louella create the fashion themselves through advertising for there own benefit.Louella are a huge buisness concern And to think they have the ordinary fancier as there first priority is nonesense.

 

 

I can't see any where on this thread anyone saying they put the ordinary fancier first? And they are in business and there is only one purpose in business and that is to make money but any business worth its salt knows if doesn't look after its customer its going to fail, their still going strong!

i have to admit..i got a fed topper from louella 8)

 

i had a yb stray come in on a friday few years ago, contacted the owner.agreed to throw yb out when i went past his midlands home..sunday i went to louella,s.

got to louella,s remembered the yb..so at the top of his drive..i released the bird.

when i was at home that night saw a bird on the loft..this yb had single tossed his way back to my loft in s wales.

transffered the bird over ..following season ob,s he topped the welsh north road fed ;D ;D

so in theory of some sort i got him from louella,s. ;D ;D ;D

one pigeon i will remember for ever was called big red think he top combine 5 times he was that big more like a chicken never seen a pigeon like it

he was breed from a cock from LPW but he did cost £800 he was from the best LPW had at the time.

I did buy a old hen from them last year and she was barron but they did exchange her for another one mind you she did cost 500 and not 100 and i did tell them that as ive spent 500 i did expect to get at least one egg lol

there must be some birds in there that are of some good you only taking a chance if you don t think its worth it .these birds are all on there web site so its not as if you are byeing without seeing them . i know its not the same as handling them and all that .  but most fancers do go by the way a bird looks and its posture

Hi john. thats my point exactly, they sell thousands a year and you dont hear that many nationals being won by them. Yes i would agree that years ago it was different at louella but then you had louis running the show when he was alive, now the sons have taken over its all about money. If you want any thing any way decent from them you have to pay £1000's for them.Its only good for newstarts who want to get some cheap birds to get them going. All this pay your money take a chance gets you nowhere. I want birds i know are going produce not take a chance. What you breed this year will be part of your team for the next 5 years so why take a chance.

So are we to take it then that Bussearts / Jan Aardens Delbar etc. etc. are no good today :-/ That those selling them have a blumming cheek as these strains died - mostly before Masserella was even born! They is ludicriss!

Nationals and internationals are still being bought off Louella's birds.

There was over a million rings sold by the RPRA alone last year. How many were put onto winners :-/ :-/ :-/

Of course Louella sells rubbish! Of course every bird bred isn't a winner! Main difference is that louella sales the youngster OFF proven stock .... unlike many that sell their PROVEN culls to gain some of their money back on Novices and Sheeplike dreamers'. Though the chances are slim of a National winner, you don't get many from them culls too many cue up to buy. And in simple terms they are umpteen times as many every WEEK sold as Louella sells in a year!

I've bought in from a couple this last season or so. Plus the odd one I liked advertised as I'm in the throes of rebuilding my family so to speak. Not one has guaranteed me that the birds are good, will breed winners let alone state they are winners! And these are of good lines, no two ways about that.

plus one must relate to a simple fact also. These 'Names' that race 200 - 300 birds each season, and get only get the odd swallow need you louella knockers to buy their' culls. If any one here even in the UK has good birds, wins NATIONALS Sections etc, good Fed winners etc. Louella is knocking on their door, no two ways about that!

Sorry John have to disagree you read the reports on the BICC and BBC long distance races and the birds are predominantly Louella, sprints no, but I think that is because of the anti loella phenomanon that occured after Louis died and that's where the small studs have come in to their own.
