Pigeon Couriers "The good stories"

Used Coopers this week, picked birds up at Rotherham and delivered to Sunderland next day, rang prior to collecting and prior to delivery, excellent.

I think the £25/£35 thing could be down to Pigeonchat, theres a bit of an introductory/promotional thread on there.

Louella's advert on back page of BHW. "Michael says .......All of of us are gradually adjusting to life without Amtrak and Louella is obviusly working closely with prospective new logistic companies to provide a sustained, viable and quality delivery service. However, I don't believe this will happen overnight. In the meantime we are encouraging fanciers to visit Louella and collect ............Our advice is jump in a car with a friend and share the travel costs......."

How is this a good story, best to get all the bad stories on one post so we can let the couriers and members know where they are going wrong :-/

I have looked for the Feedback on couriers but give up - hope if it can be found someone may make it sticky!!

Anyways -

Pigeon Tracker collected some birds for me at 9.15am yesterday morning from Wales, the birds were delivered yesterday afternoon around 5pm in good condition.

Well looked after and got a phone call in good time to tell me and also when 30 minutes away.

Fantastic service yet again - Not sure if it was Jamies Daughter who delivered but very polite and pleasant and an overall fantastic service yet again.

Well done Pigeon Tracker

Nice to see some positives ... pleased infact.

I have no doubt that other services will / and have done as such. Even Amtrax did.

But unfortunately, as sure as eggs are eggs, they will get swiped at some time in the near future.

Just hope that fanciers remember these good posts, and the countless satified customers that will abound.

Not used any as such, so have no preferance of course. - Will be hard to decide no doubt when I have to.

i think amtrak going out of business has been the biggest step forward in courrier service weve had!

i would say even bigger step than ets!

Used Coopers today for the first time. Communication was good, both collection and delivery places were phoned firstly to say when pick up/delivery would happen then 30 mins prior to confirm.

The Delivery driver Wayne was very friendly and polite.

Only fault was I was charged £35 pounds even though I explained that on the Forum it was stated £25 but the Girl on the phone said no it was £35.

The phone line is very busy so have sent email to check out prices and will update info when/ if I get a reply.

My daughter can't drive so it would have been one of our lady drivers we have, they can be as good as me ya know, or at least that's what they told me and as you were happy with them I won't disagree.    ;D

Note to be taken from this thread is that as long as people don't expect parcelforce type delivery (guaranteed same/next day) and put more emphasis on the care for the birds health during transit than the speed of delivery which is what most good fanciers do, things can only get better.

On that note thanks to all the great members on here who've used us so far, thanks for the positive and once in a while negative comments, they've given use lessons which needed to be learned.  The key to success is for neither the courier to be making empty promises and having the knowledge to care for the birds during transit to the fancier having a little patience on timescales.

Once again thanks everyone.

Jamie

I totally agree but I think it may take some time for people to realise this, as up until recently this was not the type of service being offered by Amtrak. If they couldn't deliver it that day then tough. For example we had one instance where our YB ended up in Dundee (DD1 instead of TD1). When I phoned to find out where our Bird was I was told it would have to be brought back down from Dundee but we should have it the next Day! It was still in the Van!

So more Power to the Elbows of those who have the Birds best interests in mind!

there's a lot of truth and realism being spoken here.

Time and patience is a virtue... the hard part of course is understanding via many.
