From the colour chart in Squills red cock and cheq hen will breed red cheq, blue cheq, blue and mealy of both sexes.

colour and pattern are inherited seperately. It is only colour that is sex linked.A cock has two colour genes and a hen one. Both cocks and hens have two pattern genes each.

red/red cock x blue hen will only breed reds in both sexes

blue/blue cock x red hen will breed red cocks and blue hens

red/blue cock x blue hen will breed reds and blues in both sexes

red/blue cock x red hen will breed red cocks and red and blue hens

this is getting more complicated, your reds and blues, only breed reds and blues. no mealies or cheqs      confused

I have only dealt with the colour genes red and blue.As I said in my previous post pattern genes like bar and cheq are inherited independantly from colour. The colours bred could be in any of the available patterns
