diane Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Hi there. A pigeon was attacked by my neighbours cat yesterday. It escaped but has damaged its wing. It seems upbeat and there's no sign of blood etc. I have taken its numbers from its ankle. If anyone has lost a pigeon recently feel free to message me. I didnt want to phone the rspb as i wasnt sure if they would "do" away with it. Anyone any advice? Or anyone lost a pigeon? Thanks
ally mac Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Hi Diane, we have all lost some pigeons at some time or other, if you post the ring number and what area you are in it will help get the bird get sorted out. Al.

pjc Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Diane, also if you open the birds wing you may find the telephone number of the owner stamped on the long wing flights. Could be in either wing.

diane Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 That would be great actually. Poor wee thing is in a big dog cage.....due to a huge crow trying to make off with it earlier. I thought it would be best to pop it in there for now. You'd know best how to feed it n stuff. If you didnt mind that was. When the guy phones i can just giv ehim you number and explain the situation. Cheers very muckle, Diane

Fair Play Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Just a pity the Government can't work together the way the members do on this site if they could ,what a country we would have as we have a great site and members second to none
Guest Owen Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 If the cat has bitten the pigeon, the bird will surely die. Even if it is only a minor bite. Cats' saliva causes blood poisoning. The only hope the pigeon has is if you can get your hands on it and see that it has antibiotics soon.
