If it is national racing that others are wanting for young birds then breeding early November December and race with old birds and young birds race together less stress for young birds as old bird would train young birds to settle down and it would help to fill the transporta less cost over the year for the clubs and have the young bird national race from the old bird inland national less stress on young birds all round then let them moulting take place naturally

I started this thread with the knowledge that October/November yb training actually works. In fact, I’d say it’s definitely the way forward and can back that up with the 2 or 3 guys that have won at national level doing it. This isn’t a coincidence, the ybs are stress free and able to train and be educated without as many bop attacks. If you have yb racing early, you are interfering with the ob season, expletive remove, it’s stressful enough without adding ybs into the mix.Imagine breeding your ybs at a normal time of the year, no darkness system needed, racing your obs and then having a holiday. Come back refreshed and then get set for your yb season. What’s not to like ?

some might not like it but change is needed and it is a good way to work it nowadays.

Yb racing is getting harder and the pigeon fraternity is not prepared to do anything about it so i've been thinking of how to change the disastrous yb racing we have been having in recent years and I'm sure this idea would help. We should race our ybs 6 races ( 3 x 60 miles, 3 x 100 miles )from the end of September - the first or second week in November. This sounds a bit radical but here are my reasons, 1.You wouldn't need to darken your ybs as natural ybs would've almost completed the moult in time for the start of racing. 2. No stress, no yb sickness to worry about during the season because these viruses are usually all finished by the start of August. 3. Global warming has changed the seasons and the last 3 years have saw fantastic weather in the months of October and November. 4.Hawk attacks are almost unheard of in these months. I cant see a downside to this idea and I think its a goer. Please don't come back with the seasons long enough or I go on holiday etc etc. I'm trying to sort a serious problem in the pigeon sport here.

That and joint convoy. 1 big national with sections feds and clubs. You'll notice difference and better competition for everyone.

Aye as you don't want to put rings on them especially ets as you may steal them pmsl

Now that is rather silly. No rings not able to race. Must have Registered ring to me. Rubber rings cost nothing. As for steal... Got £1 30 at time, and just to think some have over 100 youngsters bred. Blimey that would mean years of collecting. Gosh the rings would be antiquated by them … 'THE finish of the sport … taking to long to collect rings from Strays'! :drinking-coffee-200::emoticon-0136-giggle: :emoticon-0136-giggle:

sadly it will be just the same 'Down at the Club' this seasons end throughout to next start of racing … Well for those moaners and whingers that won't, per normal, be attending any meetings .. wouldn't discuss any way, let alone vote if they did … except for bigger pay outs!

What a sad lot most fanciers are eh!

The theme is 'I moan, so YOU do it'!
