1. I have searched and found only one comment that questioned if it was the Birdstall website that was the problem in the auction ending early. As in the first post in this topic, Birdstall deny this. Andrew did clearly thank Birdstall in his final outcome post. I think that speculating to the detriment of Andrew, on what little we know I think is unfair, therefore I shall lock this post until he is able to come on and give us some more facts on the matter. If you have any questions about the auction, I suggest forward them in a PM to him.
2. See this http://www.pigeonbasics.com/donate.php or PM me for details and address Thank you.

6. Couriers seem to be one of the hottest topics of late! Here's my stance. When we had Amtrak, they screwed up we still had to use them. Now we've got at least half a dozen working pretty hard to win the custom that Amtrak had, however now the power is with the fancier because we've got choice. With any new business, growth, and whatever else there are going to be hiccups. None different with these new pigeon couriers, there will be mistakes, and things won't always go quite to plan - but as I said before now we've got a choice over which courier to use. When things have happened, on the forum we've allowed you to have your say and inform people of your experiences. All I ask is that if you've had a bad experience, or a good one for that matter, keep it to 'your' topic. It does become tiresome to read the same comments again and again. If they're good, great let us know, if they're bad, also let us know; but let it go once you've had your say. Its now in your power to vote with your feet, and equally me with mine. So when something goes right or wrong, let the rest of us know, but don't keep bringing the same things up again and again.
7. We have a panel of independent judges, each has a single vote. The entry with the most votes will be awarded the trophy. I haven't decided or approached the panel this year, but in '06 it was a local fancier to me while at home (home home) in Hartlepool, a local fancier to me in Scotland (Scotland home), and Rose sought the other judge. This year I will get a number of judges both from the forum and away from it.
8. Calling all novice fanciers. The Mickie B Shield is presented to a novice fancier who has attained outstanding achievement in the sport in 2008, it is presented in memory of the late forum member MickieB. The award isn't about winning races or person with the most prize cards. We want to hear your stories, what you've had to overcome to race your pigeons, interesting and quirky tales. Some things to include in your entry would be: How long you have raced pigeons/kept pigeons, How many do you keep, Do you race on your own, or is someone in the family race too, Are you part of a partnership, What positions have you won this year, and what birdage was there in these races (as much detail about setting your birds up and getting them to perform in that race please - remember it doesn't have to be a 1st place, it doesn't have to be 10th, if you sent 10 and got them all home within 5 mins but were just off the result sheet; that's a pretty remarkable performance; let us know!), What size is your loft, Do you drive (how do you go about training your pigeons if not)... I'm sure your getting the idea now! To enter, please write your piece (above), don't worry about the style of writing or spelling, its not a spelling competition! Please include your full name, and also the name of your club and federation. Winners will receive; the trophy (for one year) and replica. We may even sort out some goodies for you too. Dont forget, include the small quirky little stories of whats happened over the season, things maybe you wouldnt normally say. Entries to [mail]forum@pigeonbasics.com[/mail] - marked 'Mickie B Trophy'. Good luck! Richard P.S. For novice fanciers we mean anyone who has raced pigeons for less than 4 years or thereabouts
9. Back on the topic of the Caerphilly Show please
10. The topic was (and has been again) locked because of off topic posts, and a discussion that has since moved on. It serves no purpose to post unrelated comments to unrelated topics.
11. Many going to the NEHU Show this year? I've never been since it moved from Peterlee, what is the Temple Park Venue like? More information here => http://www.nehu.co.uk/nehushow2008.html

13. There is a free rival to Microsoft Office, completely legal too; http://www.openoffice.org/
14. I'm not tempted to setup an auction site, I think there are already enough of those around, and wouldn't bring much benefit to Pigeonbasics. By adverts do you mean the for sale section?
15. With racing over and Blackpool and the rest of the shows on the horizon it's not 'sale season' and here's our take. If you are arranging a sale for a good cause, charity or club funds please feel free to use the forum for some promotion. PM me with details and we'll get something sorted to give these good causes a bit of prominence. Private and clearance sales will be treated as adverts, and may be removed from the main forum unless an advert is taken out with the site, or you are a registered seller. Send me a PM if you would like some clarification in your circumstance.
16. Paypal take between 2-3% but for that you do get extra security on both sides, and importantly more often than not a confirmed address.
17. Pigeons only, apart from Chit-Chat ;D
18. Embedding a Youtube video directly into your post on the forum now works. Say if the youtube link is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsAGKd0S3zY Place the v= code between [ youtube ] [ / youtube ] tags. Example: It'll appear like this: fsAGKd0S3zY :)

22. Thank you for the donation David.
23. Happy Birthday Chickadee
24. We try an keep things organised. There are boards for nearly any conceivable topic, but still 80+% of topics get posted to the 'Notice Board'. Sometimes we let these run, or run until they get an answer. We'd like everyone to post their topics to the right boards but realise that that isnt always going to happen. So we try and re-home them when we see them, but we also dont want to overwhelm the Notice Board with redirect links (which get a similar reaction as is here).
