Aye Davie you are entitled to your opinion but I don't think you can blame the transporter for the Reims race I think that was down to low cloud at the racepoint,and I don't see a problem with the birds drinking from the wicker baskets as I have also witnessed them drinking freely in the transporters and marking stations. With regard to bad races most are down error of judgment to put it politely IMO.

When I was secretary of South Lanarkshire Fed. I issued the convoyer with a thermometer which took readings inside and outside and he put them on his report weekly at that time we used the wicker baskets and the readings were always lower inside than outside even on the warmest of days,I don't think any readings are taken now.

No I don't because the birds I got home on the day and next day were not distressed and hadn't lost much body weigh,t don't know the cause but I think the Perigrines played a part, the south coast is polluted with them jmo.

Yes they take the disposable needles just remember to turn the needle to lock it to the injector,if you are going to order with farmcare remember to ask for th one that can use both make of vaccines.

I bought the easiejector from hyper drug (metal type) and the first time I used it I calibrated it an tried it out before starting to vaccinate after I had done a few I tried it to make sure it was injecting the vaccine and discovered nothing was coming out the needle so I scraped it and used the syringes and started again I have since bought another called HSW ECO-MATIC this model has a transparent bit that you can watch the dose for each bird as you use it.hope this is of some help to you

Air condition only works in a sealed unit, Geraldys only have pipes with a few pinholes which gives a light air flow while traveling needs extra batteries to work when stationary.

I'm sure Steve Appleby uses the weather centre and passes thé info on to his customers at à resonable cost. Hé also is in constant contact with you on thé event of à delayed liberation.

Yes Stuart i did thé race controlling for 5 years for the national, but only took thé job on thé condition that i would havé thé services of thé Weather centre which in my opinion is thé only way it can be done right,thé service provided was so profesional, recieved à fax at 4.30 in thé morning with details of thé prédicted weather from race point to the north of Scotland wind speech and direction, cloud basé, state of thé sea in thé Channel, visability. Thèse détails were provided for all thé différent areas throughout thé Whole country,i Could also speaker to thé forcaster at any time of thé day in thé event of a delayed libération. I had thé services of Steve Appleby in thé later year or so and he also provided an excellent service at à very resonable cost. Yes i agréé it is Time we went back to using profesional help.
