They may well be bad fanciers but there seems to be a lot of them about not willing to pay the £30 for the courier to return them. Not always Rose, there is normally an easy solution to get birds back locally or put on a transporter or picked up by another fancier heading that way but getting a bird home is not always easy, if fact that hard that some fanciers don't even bother to ring you back when you report their bird :-/

Just read it, one of our locally based national distributers and bus companies Moffat & Williamson have went bust as well due to the fuel costs and lack of customers :-/

If you could trap and clock your birds don't see why not, you could also if you could set an ets pad underneath then Bob's your Auntie, training them might be a problem for cote birds as ours come and go as they like :-/

Sorry to hear about your uncle, I could have been writing the same story about Billy a few months ago. Billy has encouraged me to start racing so there is still hope for new members but I think changing social and economic climates nowadays will never see pigeon racing back to it's former glory Also houses being built nowadays you are lucky if you have room or a clause in your missives that allow you to keep a rabbit never mind a loft :-/
