    GOLD RING?

Do you mean a bird bred in England but someone has stuck a Belgian ring on it as a sales gimmick?

    GOLD RING?

Well they must be pretty dumb!! the ring is so tight its cutting into the poor birds leg and to add insult to "injury" some jokers has stuck an ets ring on top of it and probably has the audacity to be disappointed that it did'nt make it home. Some pigeons are really unlucky who they get to own them!

    GOLD RING?

Does anyone know the significance of a Belg rung bird with a cylindrical shaped gold ring with what looks like "Natural Antwerp" inscribed on it?

So so pleased for Jim Benvie and for that matter John Proctor, but most of all for "Kingdom Boy". A bit of good news for channel racing doos into scotland after the last week or so. Fanbloodytastic!!!

  19. Sad, but lets be honest in this day and age who would let their kids get involved with an organistion in Scotland promoting pigeon racing(are they promoting it?) especially when the president of the biggest fed of all time in the history of Scottish pigeon racing can be banned for what at worse would only be described by "NORMAL PEOPLE" as an administrative error(well if you are having a meeting on a Thursday why would you go to the expense to have another meeting a few days earlier i.e. on a thursday friday or saturday BEFORE A SUNDAY deadline. No wonder some people find it so difficult trying to get parents to even think about allowing their kids to get a "starters loft" Next "they" will be telling us they want to attract young people to the sport - WHAT A JOKE- the only hope for Scottish Pigeon Racing is if the right people die quickly(if not quietly) amen
  20. Jesus doos ain't what they used to be are they 1st week in july and its goodbnight vienna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Is this a record?

Depends on how warm it is Andy "Blaw Hames" tend to bring the right conditions for good returns especially over in the west/central part of the country. On the other hand the "east" tends to be blessed with better "high pressure" weather conditions, but your point that you can get good races with good returns with north west winds is true. HOWEVER if you look at the records, "high pressure" and light south west winds are still the most benign and benifical to our birds.

    Is this a record?

Good point the way things have gone for scottish doos coming home from France this last week we could all do with a few straight forward "blaw hame" races to restore confidence in both the fanciers and perhaps more importantly the birds. Believe "me" this is possibly the most important thing, giving a few decent doos the chance to gain a bit of confidence getting back from over the channel.

    IT`S HERE AT LAST!!

Wonder who is behind this story- "killer owl", "kills native birds" etc presume peregrines and sparrowhawks are not "killers" and don't kill native birds. How many dogs or deer have been taken by eagle owls recently and if it comes to that how many footpaths have been closed recently because of seagull attacks. Mon the Eagle Owls!!!
