Putting letters in is not enough, the letters must constitute a proper objection detailing the reasons for it. Also to complain about the result of a SNFC race you must object in writing to the SNFC first of all. From what I remember the fed received advice from the SHU about how they should proceed and they followed that advice.
-
you guys suggesting that HOD should be scrubbed are missing the point. In effect all you would be doing is closing the race earlier than it does at present, or you would have to make the closing velocity lower to compensate.
-
You guys are missing the point as barrack room lawyers alwas do. The SNFC and for that matter the North West Federation have rules, i.e. "objections in writing within (agreed number of days)", no objections written and submitted in the proper fashion within the agreed time scale means nothing can be done. Did any of you lot on here object in writing in the proper fashion? Thought not!

Yep and I was a good few stone lighter then but I alwas made sure he got a good feed of oats after excercise!!!!!!!!!!!

The most important thing is the number of birds in the loft not the ventilation. Having said that we also have to be practical. We all know hot air rises so it is not as stupid as you think to have vents low in the back(north) and plenty of "glass" or light in the front(south), with "vents" high at the back and the middle of the sides. The really important thing is to have an ability to alter the ventilation to suit the number of birds.(or vice versa for that matter)

The only figure that should matter for a club that claims to be all about LONG DISTANCE RACING, should be the figures for the races from "o'er the water" Homer. Who knows what the thread is aiming at its not exactly clear, but I have a feeling we will find out shortly!
-
What we should remember is occasionly non doomen/women will read these threads and I think they would be horrified to think people who proport to love them would do something like that to their birds. To deliberately starve birds for a couple of days is cruel, cut the feeding by all means, but if pigeons are fed once a day on a mixture which is 50% barley there is no need to starve them. From a pigeons point of view a COUPLE OF DAYS is a relatively long time. Remember pigeons should eat little and often and when the body is starved it begins to shut down to preserve and protect itself as much as it can. "A little of what you fancy does you good" and "Everything in moderation" maybe old hat but are still as appropriate as they ever were.

me replied to frank-123's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
If what I have heard is true, you might just have hit the nail on the head Bruno lad!! -
100% spot on Bruno lad there are those on here who quite clearly have their own agenda and constantly grind their political axe for their own purposes. Its not only blatantly obvious its also getting a bit tedious.
-
100% agree to, but the guy offering should have made that absolutely clear especially if he is offering to a novice. Have bred many great racers from latebreds.
-
Getting worried now after some of your other posts!! This is'nt one of those "war"time messages like "John had a long mustache" is it?
-
yep you are right only thought someone "shifting doos" qualifiy the birds as no longer wanted by ano!! The point is the bird (generally speaking) if not good enough for you(me) won't grace any other!! There are exceptions of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Talk about making things up as you go along? More strength to your elbow Richard!!!

Speak fer yersel ya "Sassenach"

How on earth do you know????

Mating ? depends on the main race for the the bird early in or perhaps late in March. Recipe for success? routine + routine - then change then - revert, motivates every time!! Best of of luck!! Hope you enjoy success from the distance in 2009!!

At a time like this many thoughts go through our heads but as pigeon men we should try and hold on to the thought that the quality of this mans birds were a measure of the man himself. I (or should I say me) am privliged to own some of Dale's birds. Further down the road that will be this mans epithath, birds bred by him or bred down from his birds will still be recording performances Dale would have been proud of. As pigeonmen/women what greater reminder would we like to go on after us than the continuing success of our family of birds? On a human (family) scale of course this means nothing and in that respect I would pass my very best wishes on to his nearest and dearest.

Race them as hard as nails when they are ready for it. Thats all they need if they are real friends of yours and ready to go, they will come back!
-
Only certain bacteria which to be honest don't alwas protect our birds against ANYTHING.
-
"Facts are" maybe you might have lost some birds in a kind of over stocked pigeon race. I did'nt my birds are real racers!!!!!!!!!!
-
Let "me " take the last 2 posts together. Treat as little as you can! Canker, Cocci,Worms? Yes you are right you have heard it before.
-
Have had some experience with the chooks but HAVE NEVER SOLD EGGS OR CHICKENS. "good life sort of crap" when I was studying. Saying that don't mind them so why get so engrossed with their treatment if they don't really bother oor doos?
-
To quote a famous Scotsman "maybes aye maybes naw" What I can say is, I passionately want fanciers birds to survive long enough to get lost racing if that has to happen. All I will say is protect your birds. "Cider vinegar" might help but sometimes it will not be enough.

Take it you keep chickens the same as well Bruno lad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
