As usual recently at least Gareth you are missing the point, I wonder why? There is no chance of "me" objecting did you not read the post before you quoted it? There are ways of doing things right and taking the members with you and there is away of getting things sorted to suit your own agenda which risks losing members. I know which way I would prefer to get things done.

Personally I would be in favour of encouraging people to race their doos and "the more the merrier", but there is not one shadow of a doubt this was done in a less than open way and the the LSC was founded on the principle that members would be within the fed boundaries. My concern is if someone puts a motion to the fed agm effectively banning "duplication" clubs. If it were to be passed who would the LSC FLY WITH THEN? Maybe Gareth you should ask Ladbrokes for odds on where the LSC will be in 3 years time!

Well first of all my birds are a BREED, but after that I would say they are MINE. Small to medium size but their hearts are so big they make me feel so incrediblely proud when they drop in when the light is fading AND MOST OTHERS HAVE FAILED TO TIME. What a humbling experience it is to see a fantastic pigeon battle home to get back to their loft and "me", makes "me" so proud and yet so humble. What a sport we are members of!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no absolute right of membership to any organistion. For instance if an individual has a deserved reputation for slagging off a certain club or fed, that is a good enough reason for refusing membership of the organisation in my opinion.

If you are talking about the creation of the SL Fed, it was not an aggro thing really. Some of the SL Lanarkshire guys felt their birds were being dragged over the top(especially young birds) by the large numbers heading for central lanarkshire. There was no great falling out that I remember.

I remember the last discussion as well Bruno lad and you did the the same the last time, tried to turn the meaning of the act on its head!! Are you seriously trying to suggest that if a long standing hard working member of Carluke club say, decided to join a SL fed club because he did not want to race his birds down the west coast route as was the case for the last few years, The club would be within their rights to expel him from the club and this did not constitute a restriction of his right to freedom of association under the act

Ok but this is the last time!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say I am a member of Carluke club and I decide to join a trade union, but Carluke club expel "me" as they have a rule that trade unionists can not be a member of the club, that is illegal under laws introduced to protect "freedom of association". Now say I am a member of Carluke club and I decide to join Kirkfieldbank club , but Carluke club expel me because I have become a member of an organistion they do not approve of. This is also illegal under the same act. In effect the trade union and Kirkfiedbank club are one and the same under the act. Hope this helps.

Funnily enough Jimmy "Awards for all" are not whats important here, they are merely obeying the law. They can not be seen to be giving cash to any club or other organisation whose rules are in breach of the law. Any complaint to them would surely be investigated and thats whats worries "me"

Not quite sure what you mean Bart, but to try and make it simple, if you substitute becoming a "protestant" or a "trade unionist" for "joining a club that is a member of South Lanarkshire" you might get the point. All of the three examples above are the same in law. Thats just the way it is.

Had an awful lot of nice Blue Pieds in my time as well Alf unfortunately the nice looking ones are not alwas the best. Saying that I have had very similar experiences to yourself over the years, but as I say at least the guy reported the bird and you are getting it back.
