In the End we finished up with all home. Two to come on Sat night. One arrived on Sunday at 12.30pm and the other on Monday at 1.00pm .Both have been hawked and totally flown out but well see how they pick up mid-week.Other members of our club have lost between 5 and 11 pigeons each and at this distance it just should not happen. :-/ :-/ :-/ If this trend continues they will have no pigeons left by Cheltenham. :(
-
We are now up to 38 from 70 and my club mate has 49 from 113.Well lets hope it knocks them into shape and look forward to next weeks racing and the report from JJ. :-/ :-/ :-/ Budgie

How are the returns in your area.Lanarkshire as you know lib : --8.45am into South East wind and we timed @ 10.29am.Our 2nd bird is timed at 11.02 am and we have only 8 out 70.For some reason the doos have not cleared the race point or have they been hit with the hawks. :( Lets see what the race controllers report comes up with. Budgie

With the Lanarkshire Fed going with S.N.F.C to Falaise on 18th July it would have made sense and saved a Lot of Time /Money and effort if we could have considered rather than Cheltenham on 7th June go to Newbury S.N.F.C and likewise Wincanton on 21st June go to Eastbourne S.N.F.C. With numbers dwindling you could have one set Pigeons going for double honours and half your training. Good Luck To All Fanciers Who Compete In Both. Budgie :)

Fantastic News 1 set pigeons competing in two Great Clubs for the honours on the same day. So come On All The Lanarkshire Fanciers your Country Needs you .

Richard Put us down for a youngster from our Vandenabelle Family which were responsible for us taking 27 positions within the Lanarkshire Fed and 1st Lanarkshire 2nd Section E SNFC yb all in 2007.Will be ready mid to end March.Good luck with your auction and may i take this oppertunity to wish Pigeon Basics all the best in the 2008. Yours in Sport Budgie

Their will only ever be 0ne Recognised National and that is The Scottish National Flying Club.I suspect that the reasoning behind the joint convoying is to score points as to the Best Pigeon in what ever club on the day. Some day in not the to distance future both sets of dismayed and disgruntled fanciers hopfully will be back racing again in harmony ,(if and when we can get rid off the politicians )who are ruining our hobby . :(

Bart thats good news as the last thing we need is wee Vincey moving on.
-
Heard at Blackpool that the Lanarkshire President has resigned and was wondering if it has anything to do with the Breakaway.
-
If the proposal does go through we all know its not " Compulsory " to compete in all races ,but most like to win averages be it Club,Fed or the Icing on the Cake would be the SNFC. To compete in this programme the yearlings could hopefully compete in the Inland Nationals but for the Channel Races you are going to need a good team off around twenty 2 yearolds and upwards of which some would have to be doubled up to have any chance to compete for your Section Averages within this Great Club.Time will tell and good luck to everone who has the bottle and more importantly the numbers to compete. :)
-
Wullie i agree with you but with the shortage of gid doos would it no make sense for the Lanarkshire Fed to Duplicate in one off the Sartillys it would help the National for Birdage and it would certainaly help the doo man. One set doos competing for two races and not forgeting the expense in training. Happy New Year.
-
Further to receiving the SNFC minutes and the proposals for the race programme where on earth are we in the West/North going to find pigeons and the numbers required to compete in Two Indland Nationals , Four Channel Races and not forgeting the Fed Channel Race. Its time we were going back to just having Two Nationals( ie Rennes and Nantes) for increased birdage and a gamble and leave the other races to the Federations. Give the Federations some much needed revenue as without them there will be no National.

East or West one thing for sure the Doos will not come through Beatock.Dont keep blaming Peregrines the two main factors are keeping them healty and the percentage of Sh-te we keep in our lofts which if we were honest is about 98%.Look at the sales this week in the BHW 6/7 year olds well bred never bred a curdy and doomen are buying them up at £200.00p a piece.
-
Bruno We try and keep selected Hens away from feeding their first youngster until they are two/three years old.On the selected Race which is usually the SNFC we will slip a 4/5 day youngster four days before basketing which allows the bigger youngsters to pull off the milk quicker. Budgie

Well thats wee Andy away to the Dookit in the Sky lets hope he can breed another National Winner up there as he did for one of the finest partnerships to Fly into Great Britain namely G Macaloney & Son of Coatbridge with Janefield Andy 1st Open Scottish National Flying Club Sartilly (2) 1987 Velocity 693. So moat it be. Budgie
-
Tim tell us where we can get these Doos and believe me i would bin the lot as i have always said their is 98% crap in every dookit.
-
Alf as a Lanakshire Man how many SNFC tickets have you had over the Last 2-3 years before you make statements which are degrading the fanciers in your area.
-
With the prevailing West Winds just look at the trees and the way they are permantly bent over. Its now getting as hard to get Doos into Annan as it is the West Section .Fanciers in the West have purchased the Best from the East Coast Route FANCIERS and only a handfull have ever been any Good.Look at the distances from the S East Corner to the Central Belt Of Lanarkshire some 20miles yet it can take them nearly 2 hours to Fly 20 miles. :o
