Thanks Geordie thats an increase of 30% on last year.At the Uddingston Race Marking Station there was 500 + marked. :)
-
Does anyone know the Final Birdage and what is the likely chance of a race tommorrow.Pigeon Navigation is showing green and provided they are Healthy returns and hopefully performance should be good. Good Luck to all including big Roberts wee Hen. :)
-
Robert The race is cancelled by who ,it is has still to be confirmed as requested by Homer.Bart is right we can ill afford any further splits(look what happened to the National) and it would be a benifit to us all if South Lanarkshire re-joined.Lets move on and by the way are you still sending the Doo you timed on Saturday to the YBN and is it worth betting against it.Lets know before we fill in our poolsheets. :)

With the returns we have been getting we are going with 12.Jumping them 140mls is not a problem as long as they are Healty/In fine feather/Coming steady and more importantly good enough. On that subject what % of bad pigeons do fanciers think they keep. Good Luck to all. :)
-
Well Homer the Race is Cancelled it can only be down to two things the members dont want to go or they cannot get a driver. It certainlly cannot be down to finances and with the Good but Hard Races and Returns weve had there are plenty pigeons left .(according to reports)On speaking to one of the top Fanciers in Lanarkshire tonight he confirms that his losses are on par with last year and he cant remember the last time he did not compete in all races availible to him in the Fed.In hindsight maybe there should have been a come back race for the Latebreds but it is usually Driven by Costs,Distance,Losses and the % of bad pigeons we keep. You should try for the PRO post as a Carlukeion as you certainaly well informed in Newmains matters. Take care Budgie

With the due West winds how are the times and more importantly returns in you area.We have over 50% returns and it is taking them 3hrs 12 minutes to fly 109 miles from Towlaw into the Lanarkshire.Congratulations to the Chief Race Controller for getting a race.
-
With the race being moved from Witton Castle (due to unforseen circumstances) to Towlaw will the Special Duplication Race still be on bearing in mind what happened at Lillers/Maidstone.Lets hope that no £30.00 deposits are lodged.
-
Lanarkshire Fed are Going at 9.00am from Towlaw NE wind good luck to all.Met office forcast 7-10 mile due west wind and the Pigeon Navigation is showing Green which represents safe and good returns should be expected.

Does anyone know the position regarding the last race scheduled for the 8th Sept (which is on the same day as the YBN) and does it form part of the :) averages.

I have never known as many fanciers over the last two/three years experiencing the Health problems we are now having.Unfortunately natural immunity has gone so,what is the cause and how do we get it back. The underlying problem is latent paratyphoid/salmonella.The symtoms we had was wing hanging down.would hardly fly and the droppings were watery and green. On the racing scene we were scoring now and again. We sought specialist guidance and were advised to use Parastop for fourteen days before pairing up and ten days before the first race.Try this treament along with the usual products and you will be amazed at your improved performances.

Harky dont listen to yer cousin (winding you up) and i agree with you the controller has done a fantastic job the season considering the circumstances.I take it from your returns that you will have a good team for the ybn.
-
Tam tell the members the truth and get on with it.As Pro you have a duty to keep the members informed but its seems only when it suits you, or you get approval.Nice to see you responding rather than your wan liners.
-
Whats the other times/vel in Lanarkshire and how are the returns.Tam you can :)respond as well without seeking approval from your office bearers. :)
-
Alf after a couple of pints anything can happen but as Tam quoted before yae canny sue me as i hivnae got anything.Well that might be true but i could always gae him a start pay him of them sue him.

Lanarkshire Fed at Otterburn Lib:-11.15am Gail Force Due West Wind 54out62 taking them 2hrs 28mins.Congratulations to the Race Controller. :)
-
Robert as usual the only time certain members are quite on the board is when they have something to hide or the lighters gone out.For some unnone reason or they have been sworn to secrecty.DOOS are going up at 11.15am due West wind which will take them based on the first race about 1.30pm. Good luck to all.

With another weekend approching the forcast for this weekend is bordering between yellow and green where caution should be observed and the wee youngsters way nae feathers should be left in the dookit.Sunday is certainly the better day of the weekend with good visibility 12mph North Winds and temp up to 20oC.With the rain coming in from the West on Saturday the central belt may have a problem, but there will be some clear spells during the course of the day we may just be able to Sneak in a much needed race. :-/ :-/ :-/
-
Robert we will certainaly being going provided the youngsters come through the next two weeks are healthy enough and in good feather condition. If you lift them and feathers are out of place and are by their third/fourth flight leave them in the dookit.Ybs will fly for ten hours provided they are healthy and they head in the right direction. The only problem is the prevailing west wind and as you know the racing in the east section will be over before we get doos. See you tomorrow night and dont be sending to many to gae us a chance.

With the ybn on the same day it may not be a concearn to the majority of members with the exception of those wishing 150mile race.I take it from your comments that a contract is in place between the Haulege Contractor and the Fed. If not surely alternative arrangements could be made to Hire a Unit and a driver but with averages already being won the birdage will be well down.
-
Just heard that the Lanarkshire Fed have decided to go to Otterburn 25th August,Witton Castle 1st Sept (which will be the duplication race) and Ripon on the 8th Sept which will not form part of the Fed averages. With the weather for this weekend looking : reasonable lets hope their are no further set backs in completing the programme. Good luck to everone competing. :)
