Too many looking for a easy time Davy which you will never get from theses distances the looses are what they are.Every year I go and every year I lose what I think are some of my best pigeons but if I get one it makes it all worth while,I hear a lot about building teams which I don't believe is possible from 500 mile plus races you may have a family that will produce birds that are capable but never will you have a team and IMO sending yearlings is madness.

To much living in the past Reims and Ancenis are the modern day race points get on with it :emoticon-0136-giggle:

But they are the best 1000 pigeons in the country mate,from the best fanciers in the country nothing but glory if you manage to match them

Did you use the inland races as prep races for the channel races

The birdage sent to the channel races are dwindling purely down to the inland races,remove this option and the birdage will increase simple as that IMO

Let's start with Ypres,Arras Reims Ancensis then Roye and forget about the inland races that should be left to the federations

Reims is a bigger place than the car park expletive remove stupid comment

personally feel the race is meant to be for the very best and Roye is to short especially to the shortest flying members,the race should be atleast 500 miles to the shortest flying members so for me Reims it must be and for the extreme distance fanciers they have ancensis

Roye to short IMO would stick with Reims

Has nothing to do with the race point mate this is the first time in many years I have not scored or had atleast birds return from Riems has always been a hard but fair race and would certainly promote Reims again as the gold cup race albeit 2016 being a disaster.Royes East,Ypres East great races has nothing to do with easterly race points

At least you are getting some info as to were your best birds are which is a plus,been thinking that the birds that are now showing up from this race have had a helping hand along the way

Think there are many that can be classed as good/decent fanciers with a mixed bag of achievements in whatever type of racing they chose to compete.Much easier to identify the bad ones which every decent fancier will easily identify.

Boy in my club has one reported in Sweden from Ypres
