  3. lot 3 £50 updated mb
  4. no bird has an ideal weight as each one weighs differently, i used to weigh my pigeons before each race to see what weight there ideal condition was however from experience i learnt this was unneccsary and time consuming however by feel you and by body structure you should be able to gather wether the bird is a healthy weight
  5. survival of the fittest. if it wasnt strong enough to come out of the egg it wouldnt be strong enough to be in my team

  8. u tried kelseys shop in plaistow tony
  9. John its only common sense that you dont need to be on the dark as your young birds will be on natural darkness, Spence & Nichols, and Ronnie Bigwood done this for years, however it doesnt mean it will win you a national, there are many ways to keep your birds with a complete wing, darkness, light and as you stated pairing before december the 10th. However many people swear by now having young hatching xmas day and a tub of vaseline in the loft to slip there rings
  10. 14th february pairing up date is fine to put your youngsters on darkness i do it every year, i always find my best young birds are the eggs thats laid after this period, hence the reason ive moved back my pairing dates to 14th february. Like the others say it is good enough to put them on the darkness as they only need to be on the dark for six weeks.
  11. Joe connolly had a top pigeon once called liberachie would never pair to a hen
  12. always go to the counting house every year, untill it closed but was back in there this year since the old yates had burnt down, went in the new yates but wasnt much cop
  13. shame only member i saw this year was my good friend clive(T_T), would have liked to meet a few others however didnt bump any of the familiar faces like good old ian mckay and gangster,
  14. deit 2000 is ideal for racing, id have them on breed and wean untill they start perching then reduce the protein content, as the longer there on a hard mixn the longer it seems to take for them to take to the air. id put them on a 60-40 60% light mix and 40% protein based mix, and they'll stay on that to around 4 weeks till before the first race
  15. will be seeing what auctions are on around, and seeing how much some very overated birds will make at auction, then afterwards hitting the public houses, havent been in the counting house for last 2 years however with yates closed all the east london boys im expecting will hit there

  20. im sure i read somewhere that Paul Haelterman once said the more snow you have in your loft in the winter the more first prizes you will have in the spring, with a lofts like that id expect alot of snow would get in, with a loft like that id be inclined to have a wire flooor, with a pull out tray underneath the wire,
  21. if they exercised for nearly one hour there is nothing wrong with your birds, sick birds wont fly
