Any reason you cant buy Alum over the counter in England, Or Scotland?
-
Anyone know where to get my hands on either Alum, or Aqueous Iodine?
-
so where are you expected to train your pigeons
-
I would give them 2 days to settle and then i would get them out as often as possible, once a day is enough. Generally the first day any new birds into a loft very rarely eat for the first day. DO NOT AND I MUST STRESS DO NOT WORRY ABOUT STRAINS!! Van Loon, Janssen, Meaulamen, De Klak, Hofken, Vandenbeele, Sherlackens ect never worried about strains and you'll find alot of the Belgians and Dutch show no interest in strains, just pigeons from winning lines is what you need, they could be from any strains.
-
I know a fancier who bought the real best lines a couple of years before Pallet or Louella where even thought off at Van Lints, and they made a big impact, and still are.
-
Im a realist, as a spurs fan theres no chance!!
-
Any information on when the majority of these young birds will be ready may increase the bidding, as its getting closer to the season, and many will not want youngsters too late.
-
personally i would say there destined to be cold, the idea with pigeons is to build up a natural immunity, and at 24-25 days old to have respiratory problems sounds to me its starting how it could go on.

Wonder if anyone can help, i got in touch with the RPRA, they said i need to transfer any IHU rings with the IHU, i then emailed the IHU, and have waited a good few days and still haven't received a reply, anyone know how i can get my hands on a IHU transfer?

You'll be surprised Roland, many say they didnt believe but many top performers named there pigeons by there colour of there eye like Albert Marcellis great cock the 'Geeloger', and why the Janssen Bros preferred the White eyed pigeons, Van Breeman also spoke on the subject and Vermeyen of Antwerp was also one of Belgiums best, and believed in eyesign as even a certain theory was named after him the Vermeyen ring, and as you mentioned Van Reet, you will notice alot of Vermeyen goes right back into there family, when his grandfather purchased them, i believe when Syefs grandfather died at the entire clearance Staf bought 3 half brothers all from the same Vermeyen hen and destroyed the competition with these cocks. It opens the can on did Van Reet know anything on eyesign, since his grandfather bought from Belgiums great eyesign expert?? But thats going off topic

IB, all those words are Flemish, which is Belgian Dutch. So they are understandable in both Belgium and Holland.

Sorry deb, i have a lack of knowledge on this subject, and never realised you could hatch eggs in a brooder, i thought they were used just for rearing young, thanks you for enlightening me, im guessing your brooder could be something simiular to this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/INCUBATOR-FAN-ASSISTED-12v-25-Egg-Hatcher-/170613781814?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Poultry&hash=item27b95fb536#ht_2252wt_1178 Thanks again
