    Roye

    We have had two more return from Roye this week taking us up to 3/6 both have been injured ,anybody else having birds return late and injured ?
  9. Gourdon & Dist first y/bird race 3 members sent 56 birds to Arniston , fingers crossed they get a good race. 75mls to us

I always hear about line of flight thrown in for training correctly ,Well let me tell you where we are on the east coast at Gourdon (look it up on google map ) our line of flight is all across water from Berick .How the *uck am I going to get my birds to come across a gulf off water as big as the channel , dina get me wrong we do get good results but our birds are at a BIG disadvantage ( example Roye - Forfar 534mls ,Gourdon 534 mls ) I know good birds win anywhere and we have topped the fed before ,only with y/birds never with old birds ,so somebody explain to me how to train to win where we are

  12. I'm gutted we got 6/14 never in all my racing life have we had so bad a returns, maybe some weren't up to the task but think what abody is saying about the weather it must off played a part . We had a 5 year old hen reported at Nottingham it came in to the guy on Saturday he fed and watered her and she turned up on tue afternoon ,she had only flown 150 mls on Saturday before going in to him

  14. Stick with it Philg50 the birds that you have left must have a brain if they've came back from a scatter , just think you would of probably lost the ones that are missing anyway
  15. I've took ours off early this year to see if it helps them get through the moult before Dec

    our first two birds home from wakefield 221 miles this one off them dripping with blood few feathers out ,but hopfully he will make a good recovery ,finished for this season

  20. Def not a sand martin they are more of a browny colour and seen a swallow yesterday
  21. Seen the first house martins of the year today lot earlier than previous years normally about 16-24 April before we see them up here in the north east of Scotland, maybe a sign of a good summer
  22. SU 15 AF 657 couple of races as a youngster , high hopes for this one his half sister and brother both scored well as yearlings
  23. Update on floating eggs 5 out off the 6 are going to hatch but they take 21-22 days to come out
  24. That the first off our youngsters hatching out , how is everybody else getting on or are we one off the early ones to have youngsters
