    Rain

An old gentlemen, much cleverer than me, once told me that a good sign of condition was how quick the bird LOOKED dry after a wet fly!!! Now he might just have been telling a youngun like I was then a lot tosh but who knows???? If ye are racin frae a distance to Scotland then there is a fair chance that they will encounter heavy showers or prolonged rain somewhere on route and then his theory of how quick they recover or how they handle it would come into play I suppose?

Dont mind the rain for them as long as yer loft is nice and dry with good air then I think its beneficial? No warm hand baths on a friday moorning for you then mate?

  19. There is absolutely NO way I could keep pigeons to a DECENT standard alone cos my work and sporting commitments is laughable. I scrape oot in the morning at 6.30 lettin hens oot for 45 mins and then scrape, feed and water the stock shed!In for brekkie and shower then work. Old boy comes aboot 7.15 and scrapes the cocks oot and they gan for an hour. Then the two yb sections and he will probs get hame aboot 10am. He is back at 1pm to let hens and cocks oot for another spin!! I get hame at 4.30-5 dependin on what broke down!!! Straight oot wae hens and cocks again and another scrape of the stock shed. All fed and watered and doors shut!!! Think everybody loves the doos and if its just a hobby and no about competeing then you can take it at your liesure but diffo if ye want to be near the front JMO I HAVE NOT SEEN THE BIRDS RETURN FROM A RACE SINCE THE THIRD YB RACE OF LAST SEASON :emoticon-0179-headbang:
