First few times you let them out keep them a wee bit hungry usually morning is best. Would not bother with cage just get them on the landing board every day after they are spaned. If there are other lofts around try not to let the babies out when there are other flocks out. Dont chase them to fly but when majority are up and flying if there are others the same age still siting on the lander dont let them. Feed them half in morning and half at night at the same time for routine will help you and the birds.
