I've found you lose a higher % of young cocks racing them to eggs/babies.

Done the week JAM and no noticeable difference from previous years without it. I think the simple act of locking them up for the week triggers the moult. All the bits and pieces we give them are really in all honesty for our own benefit, were afraid they'll not get through it so feel we've got to assist in some way or other ............but do they really need it?

I've tried buttermilk to try and kick start the moult, cant say it did, will go back to giving them tea. Last year gave them Sedochol for the first time, happy with that. On the corn I put Poultry Spice, no fancy moulting mix used just use a breeding mix knocked down with a bit of barley and a handful of linseed.

33/39 they struggled today, ambushed by the heat I fear.
