  1. Yes that sounds a good idea Gareth, You could enter any race result, club, fed, National, Combine etc.
  2. We can raise that money throughout the year quite easily, maybe medals would be better???
  3. Lets not worry at this stage about the nitty gritty lets get the idea off the ground and the detials will be sorted along the way!!! We could be basically talking about an award for the best fancier in Britain.
  4. Yes Tam but you better win it or there will be red faces on the promenade!!! 8)
  5. I only use UK Pigeon Couriers now, not sure your right about the £45 tho mate!!! To me they are the best by far!!!
  6. Why dont we do something positive for PigeonBasics, my idea is to have a Champion Old Bird Trophy, Champion Young Bird Trophy, Combined Champion and New Fanciers Trophy. General Rules along the lines of each fancier can submit 5 old bird results and/or 5 young bird results (between 150 - 750 miles) with PB moderators deciding the winners based on the best coefficant, New Fancier Trophy for the best 4 results (old or young) for a fancier flying less than 3 years. All participants have to be members on the 1st of January of that competing year. The four winners could be presented with there awards at Blackpool at the PB stand or at a Hotel of Choice. Would give us all something to fly for.
  7. Owwn you are 100% spot on with your post, one reason why i take the responsibility of selling pigeons very seriously and always try my utmost to care about what im doing!!!!
  8. Whiteknight i have had more stick than anyone and as you say its always from the same few yet for all the nonesense said the majority in fact 99% of people on pigeon basics are 100% top people, you just have to role with the punchs. Remember the stick i got when i sold the Dutch Open birds for £25 each, and winners that came out of that little lot ;D ;D
  9. Yes Vallance, they picked up the boxs and went to walk away, i knew they were in super nick, just showing off!!!! 8)
  10. Just to bring a little sense to this arguement, there are in place Defra rules for pigeons, cows, sheep etc and these rules are applied to shows and as in our case Bird Gatherings. If you read the rules in full you will see that they are unworkable unless you can identify and record an idividual pigeon, where its come from and where it is going and you can only do this if the bird is rung with an individual ring. Cows are Stamped, Pigeons are rung so to me an unrung pigeon cannot be sold at a bird gathering under defra rules!!
  11. What stall are you talking about Big Al
  12. Your face when i said you better look at them cus there a bit ruff ;D ;D I have never seen a pigeon of Brians thats not in super condition, he really does have some super pigeons and i for one am very happy to put my name to them.... Recently i sold a small batch to America and they nearly fell off there feet when they came out of quaritine..
  13. Lets all be honest here we are our own worst enemies, if we fund these people they will keep selling, if everyone insisted on a standard both in selling, auctioneering, breeding, showing then these guys would be found out. I stood next to a stand on the saturday morning, i was stood there with 3 of the the best fanciers in Holland and they were laughing because they just couldnt believe that people would buy pigeons from this guy esp considering the condition they were in, he again was a none fancier!!!!
  14. Lot 22 went to slippy and this one lot 25 was a cracker went to devenred, well done lads
  15. lot 22 as requested
  16. the same, he is bred from the bird in this picture
  17. This one also went north of the border to anothe very good fancier
  18. This the new addition to the fifer family. if anyone wants the pictures of the pigeons they purchased let me know.
  19. And i know before you say its a bloody nice face too.
  20. There are always a few stands that have pigeons that are not in 100% condition and normally they tend to be those that dont or have never raced, this is the main reason we dont have a stand now has the higher quality birds are often found outside at the auctions (not always). I did have time to look around on Sunday and i will say that Tumely Lofts, Ian Axe and Premier Stud had there birds looking very well but 1st prize goes to Frank Tasker, not only in good nick but top lines too. Still think frank should get a bird with big tits to stand in the video booth tho!!!!! ;D
  21. Thanks for the kind words. Devonred is correct if you purchased lot 24 to 34 check the pedigree you picked up is correct, there are two people who have the wrong one. Stu
  22. You cant beat Blackpool, good bars and good cheap old fashioned hotels that suits all!!!!!
  23. £75, janssen van den bosche
  24. I picked up these birds and delivered them to the PB members at Blackpool, well done Brian Ferris they were absolutley stunning.. Our Anto had a grin longer than the pear...
  25. I would like to thank the many Pigeon Basics members who attended the Raymond Moleveld Auction in the Sheraton esp all you scottish lads. We were very happy how the auction went and to me (and maybe im biased) but that was the best 57 birds ive ever seen in a sale esp as most were from 2009. Some really good fancier purchased birds so all is looking good for the future. At one point a guy came in with a box and proceeded to take out a cock that i had previousley sold him, i thought s**t maybe he wanted his money back but no he was so pleased with what the cock had bred he wanted Raymond to match too hens to it!!! Its nice when people put that trust in you. Did have one scary moment when Joe Bugner started bidding but then i realised it was Tam Richardson;D ;D Thanks again. Stuart Wilcox
