Been so busy training for saturday that i havnt had much time for owt else, be good to get it over with and get back to my birds.

A bit gutted that i wont be flying this weekend as the birds could really do with a race in prep for the National next week, but one half of my dream will come true on Saturday when i run out at Twickenham in the RFU Intermediate Final, lets hope the other half happens at Tarbes!!!!!!!!

Today after 500 plus 1st game we bloody won the National Semi Final against Tonbidge who havnt lost for 44 games, we stuff them WE ARTE NOW AT tWICKENHAM ON THE 1ST OF MAY

I think my pigeons are Hawk Drunk!!!! I the widowhood cocks out last night and was pleased when they flew for a good hour and they were hoping around when they landed. Then this morning i opened the lofts and not 1 came out so i walked in and off they went but within 5 minutes they doing really tight turns around the gardens and through the houses, they landed and just stood there, then a dark w/f who most of been off on his own came at the loft like a dart like he was flying away from something and the other 45 cocks scattered everywhere with most ending up in the tree behind, i did at that point see a small male peregrine dart through in the distance. They were acting like they were drunk some of them. They eventually came back down on the loft but they were all balled up like a team of streeters!!! I could see the stress in them!! I got feeling its not going to be a very good few weeks! How can they be happy to home in these circumstances not alone win!! Stuart

The reality is that if you bred 50 ybs and donate one bird to a charity sale at this time of the year your likely to leave the best in your loft, its just human nature, probaly a little different when you fulfilled your breeding requirements, thats why i think its better to have these ybs sales in May or the end of April.

Slightly off the topic of pigeons but my Rugby team Old Redcliffians had to play two games in 3 days over Easter and they were probally the most important in the clubs long history. We beat Swindon on saturday to win the EDF Intermediate Trophy for the South West, we now play Tonbridge on the 1st of May for the right to play at Twickers on the 15th of May (same day as the BBC National Ooops) and yesterday we beat stroud and secured our position of League Cahmpions In the Western Counties. Craig Owen scored 3 tries, he is grand son of Arther Owen, the pigeon fancier from Bristol. Tell you what tho i bloody ach all over, its no good at my age!!! Mind be nice to hang me boots up at Twickers. P.S. im the fat one
