I did have a call 2 weeks ago from a guy in the west of scotland who had won 39th Open National in Scotland on a long race with a 50% Moleveld and he told me about two Brothers who also flew in the west, they had purchased a bird from the Newmains sale that Raymond had and it had produced some real crack pigeons for them at the distance!! Hi There In 2011 Raymond will race in a combination and the 125 ybs will be only long distance!!But as with most very long distance pigeons it will be 2013 before they really get in there stride.They have built a new loft at a new location so its a brand new start. In 2010 Raymond flew a team of sprint pigeons from his fathers house for the first time, Raymond had invetsed in a Team of Frans Zwols and he wanted to gauge the ybs and they flow very very well for him. I really dont know if he will continue to fly short distance as his heart lies at the long distance events but his wife Jacky was talking of taking over the short distance loft. To add Raymond has the job of breeding pigeons that needs to reproduce, most of the birds he sells go into breeding lofts!! For this purpose Raymond will often sell inbred ybs, these may not always be absolute top racing pigeons but when crossed really produce top winners, he will often pair his 1st round up crossing his Lightenberg/De Tovenaar line with Wegen, Theelen, Hagen etc and then his other rounds he matches them as much as possible to inbred to his base lines!! This has worked really well for him and and ofcourse people who have purchased his birds in Holland and the UK. You will see in his sales list that these pigeons have been inbred, with acception of the few that are blended with the Red Barcelona line, Raymond wrongly or rightly believes that a pigeon that is inbred, ie has common breedeing on the dam and sire side will have higher breeding potential. Ofcourse this is up for debate but he has down a good good so fair of producing winning pigeons and i suppose he has to follow his beleifs. Derek flowers pigeon that won the Welsh National is a good example of this as the mother is inbred to De Ligtemberg and De Tovenaar and the sire is of no realation at all, so a first cross.

Hi Oddyellow, he is a breeding stud and exports his ybs all round the world, just asked him and he actually has 55 long distance breeding pairs and 35 pairs of shorter distance pigeons!! In 2011 Raymond is racing in a new partnership with one of Europes leading vets and having a real tip at Barcelona, they will be breeding 125 ybs!!! Stu

Raymond to his credit always puts the pigeons in great condition into the pen and these group are no differnt, balance, feathering, they are beauties!! Raymond distance pigeons have been around for 4 years now and they are starting to produce some top distance pigeons around the patch especially as they have matured. They are fairly inbred and crossed they have bred some crackers!! Im confident as the pigeons develop further and mature they will continue to do very well. In response to the 40%, well Raymond has 70 breeding pairs of Aardens in his stud and ofcourse each pigeon has to bred for the right to stay there and if you see the winners that Raymond is bred probaly a much higher percentage of these pigeons can now be class as good breeder. This is typical of Raymonds pigeons and he is in the sale.
