  1. Can vouch for all thats been said about this guys birds, my mate went up and brought away 2 cracking cocks, their condition is fantastic and there ready to pair only sorry that this guy is calling it aday but get in quick and pick up a great deal.
  2. yes they appear to becoming more and more popular as there winning prowess is becoming more relevent, they appear to be doing really well into the midlands and I believe people are starting to win up north aswell.
  3. Best seller!! war and peace didnt take that long to read!! like it though!! there are many great fanciers in our sport just as there are great football teams all managing there teams in an alternative way but with great results, keep it up everyone its better to chase than to be the chased!! happy christmas!!

    250 first Feds?

250? thats some result sheet, we have 26 races here a year so thats nearly 10 years of topping the fed every week, dont think its ever been done in our area!! or are these the culmination of many first gathered from 1 race, ie 1st club, 1st federation, 1st yearling, 1st hen, 1st 2xbird club, 1st all pooler that can be in some results counted as 6!! but really only 1 salesmanship is an art, once mastered it can reap rewards!!
  5. It seems to me you buy wht you can afford but remember not everything that comes out of the "top fanciers" lofts arent all winners, look how many vandenabeeles are for sale surely these arent all breeding champions or why would they be for sale, dont know anyone who sells birds that are breeding super winners do you?? this has happened from the time when the world began, theres always been someone ready to take someones eyes out!!! sculdugary whatever you want to call it, it happens! once bitten twice shy springs to mind!! but not everyone selling birds is of the same ilk, the honest man will help you with the system, feeding, breeding, treatment, everything and ask for nothing in return, they are about and if you find one it helps!! good luck to all fellow PLEBS may we continue to make others great until we ourselves fall lucky, find that "super couple" and reach the dizzy heights!!
  6. The vet may have advised the treatment just in case of a bacterial infection, there are other things that can have an effect on the wings and muscles, lack of vitamins and other feed suppliments can affect the wings etc and as with all mscles they can be stretched, strained or can cramp up, dont always think the worst as others have said there are other symptoms that go with bacterial infections so be careful, get the correct diagnosis and treat accordingly.
  7. ive often tried to fit a treatment in at this time but as other things are being fed and administered by the water ive got everything out if the way before pairing this year, i will however have a full MOT carried out on the birds following the breeding period to make sure i treat for anything accordingly and not just in case prior to the training and racing.
  8. Well done mate its good to see someone putting money to one side and helping others to help yourself. How many stock lofts are full of what can only be said to be hopeful breeders? get them tried in as many areas as you can and then you get a good idea of what your feeding, well done mate good luck for the 2007 season!!

    How Nice

Th seasons have moved a little the wind and rain we are encountering should be autumn, frosy and snow will get here soon and then we're back to spring thank god, daffs, tulips birds nesting and everythings starting again, thank GOD for the wonderful things that cost nothing but brighten up all our lives!!
  13. Actimel is as good as anything else, its all about good bacteria, we've all seen the advert, but some are better than others. There a few good ones for horses but are horses the same as birds? are the human forms the same as birds?? not sure, stick to whats for birds as different animals will have different bacteria within the guts!!!
  14. Dont be fooled into believing the winter feed isnt as important as the racing mixes because they are, do you think Linford Christie went from eating best steak to beans on toast just because he wasnt racing that week?? no chance!! look to buying the best you can afford all year round and fingers crossed the birds should be healthy. Food and water are the things life is made of so dont scrimp and try and save a £1 cos it will cost more in vets visits to put them right!!
  15. Once again broad spectrum!! caution caution caution make sure they have something wrong with them first!!! if treatment is carried out blindly then the natural imune system becomes depleated and when they arent on treatment all sorts of nasties can take hold!!
  16. Seeems to be a few different trains of thought on these when you read articles in the press, but theyve been about for years and ive known top fliers birds have them so dont know what to believe, but once theyve gone the birds dont seem to have any ill effects.
  17. Doxycycline is also good for STD'S according to the leaflet in the tablets i got hold of!! Also good for learing urinary track infections, so basically its a broad spectrum antibiotic just like so many others we use. But like all others dont use it too often an blindly antibiotics can do as much harm as they can good.
  18. It shows pigeon men are some of the best in the world when it comes to great causes!! well done chaps and keep it up!!!!!!
  19.
