  1. Fantastic pic's, it just goes to show its the quality of the birds that race not the shed. Well done Mick
  2. 100%, a press officer would be good, but who'd do it everyone wants money nowadays no one does anything for nowt. Except muggins!! cheers
  3. Redcheqhen, by missed oppurtuntities I was referring to the fiasco of the centenary races last year and add the Queens Cup flown for every year, under celebrating is where im coming from, who unless you dig deep knows who won any of these prizes last year? its not front page news unless the guy who's photographed the bird puts it on, nothings on North East tonite etc etc etc, MISSED opportunities to celebrate and advertise our sport. Sorry for your club, ours were the same. Cheers
  4. we raced Brooklands liberated at 645am, sent 6 got them all, 1 alot later than the others but all home, 4 2yr olds and 2 yearlings, clocked at 1145am. A few reporting 2/3 missing in the club. good luck for next week!
  5. Its just one of those things mealybar, we were out voted and thats that, i was disappointed not cause i have any chance of winning it but you never know do you, as you have said it is the most prestegious race this year as its the queens 80th birthday and as its the queens cup its got to have been the ultimate in 2006, never mind we only have to look back to last year to find the same thing happend, missed opportunities!!!
  6. pigeons are like horses you can take them to water but you cant make them drink! baskets training youngsters is a must, teach them young and benefit from it later. Well done the photographer very clear shots, although you should correct the date on the camera before the next photo session.
  7. two top lofts going head to head like ManUtd & Chelsea in the MCC good luck to you both.
  8. cracking little lofts those redrose ones, it all comes down to space availablity, a pal of mine had a little loft in his back yard it was 3 ft wide by 8 foot long and the trap was unbelieveable but the birds loved it and so did he. What ever you fly to aslong as the birds are happy it can be an orange box. Cheers

Weather in Billingham Teesside visibility good, high cloud, very little wind and quite warm. Good luck Dundee Fed
  10. sometimes known as angel wings, when there are 2 youngsters in the nest they leen against each other and so develop no symptoms. Try putting a pot egg in with the youngster this gives a little more balance in the est bowl.
  11. Here in Teesside its still raining, low cloud wet and cold looking south its the same picture.

Do you think the government is using bird flu to hide other more inportant issues current going through parliament ??? it seems strange whenever something regarding education is up for parliament time the bird flu appears in the press!!!

The press wont want to post anything apart from sensationalist news, putting the truth isnt the way if you want sell papers. We as fanciers need to make sure we know the facts so that when questioned we have clear, direct and honest answers. Dont be fooled by what is reported in the press, make sure you now what you are telling people and wait till questioned, I live near a town centre and how do you think i feel when there are about 1000 skemmies flying about. I do however feel that our unions and confederations are lacking in spreading the word to our members never mind the general public, we need to know the factsaswell as everyone else. Take your time, think of your replies and good luck for the coming season.
  15. Alright everybody, it's Ali Mcleod here assistant secretary to the Billingham Trade Union Homing Society, i've asked Karl to put this letter on the website because i feel it's my duty to thank all the ladies & gentlemen from this website, also a big thank you to the owner of the site for the tremendous help that billingham and clark & son recieved from many people we don't even know, of which 98% of the help came directly from this site,I simply cannot thank you's enough. I would also like to make a special thank you to B Crane, John, M Calvert & all the members of the ex kingfisher club for donating 12 race panniers & 2 ringers this was an unbelieveable gesture of goodwill to the billingham members i wish them all the very best of luck for the future. There's one other man i would like to thank before i sign off, every now & then i pop on and read some of the things that are written about on this u.n.c site and find some of it very interesting, funny & of course being a u.n.c member very informative, i don't really care who likes who & who dislikes who i personnally take people as i find them, i have raced pigeons since 1970 with no brakes in between & iv'e seen many fed secretary's of which the present fed secretary Snaithy as done more for our fed in a short space of time than all the others put together and as also helped the club and clark & son over the last few weeks with his own money & time, Thanks Ian, to all the people who have helped thanks just doesn't seem enough but i assure you we appreciate all your help more than words can say and the best of luck to you all for the future, yours in the sport Ali Mcleod
