Doo.Pigeon Fanciers Like To Get Beat& Doo They Tell Lies .
holmsidelofts replied to a topic in Notice Board
I always amazes me when theres a hard race for instance you ask some fanciers 'how did you get on' they say all home or one away when you know for a fact its not true, I have never understood why people do this. If i loose any i tell people. As for giving you birds from there best i always doubt that as well, true some people want others to win with someone else's birds so that they can see if its fancier or bird that is doing the winning. But no one is going to give away or sell birds out of there best for someone local to race against them with, Thats why i don't think its a good option to go to a local fancier, I would much prefer to pick a good winning fancier miles from me as i know i have more chance of getting something good from him or her than if i was a direct competitor. Looking good john. These are what we use and wouldn't be without them now. We have had minimal strikes around the loft since put ours up. They are not 100% but the only thing that is is a shotgun but hey we have to try. jas.

Hi all. Two years ago my grandmother lost her battle with cancer, She had treatment for nearly 3 years and was very well looked after throughout this, but sadly she lost here battle in dec 2010 just a couple of days before christmas. This year i have decided to raise money for cancer research and participate in the Welsh Three PeaKs challenge in may 2012. The event is organised by Cancer Research Wales. We will tackle the highest three peaks in north, mid and south wales in just 24 hrs. We depart from cardiff on friday night 25th may and start at the base of snowdon at first light on saturday morning. After climbing 1085m we then make our way down to cader idris where we climb the 892m before lunch, after that we head back to south wales where we climb the 886m of pen - y - fan and then we finish the day with a BBq. All funds raised go to Cancer research wales. I have to Raise £350 to enter ( all this goes to cancer research) but aim to raise a lot more. If you would like to support this fantasic cause and help me to raise these funds please visit the page below where you can donate. http://www.justgiving.com/jason-edwards1 You can also text the following to the number below to give a £2 donation. There was none taken off him until recently as pascal doesn't rear of any of his racers only from his stock. Wacko would have gone to stock next year if he was still racing. granted that jos's performances have dropped off but in my opinion he hasn't got the quality of birds he used to have, greed is a terrible thing.

Its pascal arien and agy verreckt thats the partnership name, They were husband and wife but are now getting divorced hence the sale.

One thing i will say on this pigeon is this. I handled it in october this year when i went to pascals lofts to make a dvd and in my opinion it was one of the finest handling pigeons i have ever handled, and over the years I've handled some of the best birds on the plant. It had fantastic race results. The quality of pascals birds were phenomenal, real class with amazing racing results to back them up. When you are beating joe thone week in week out they have to be something special, In the end his birds made €970,000. Watch out for Ian Stafford next year and you'll see exactly what these birds can do in the uk. He has sons and daughters of all pascals champions. He will do the business with them next season i guarantee that. Awesome. Jas.

Any People On Here That Can Read Chinese/English
holmsidelofts replied to holmsidelofts's topic in Notice Board
Hi oldyellow. i wish it was as simple as that, i have translation software that costs over a £1000 and supplies google and all the major search engines with there translation software for there sites but isn't 100% accurate, you can go to many translation websites and you'll get a different response back of each of them, What i need to know is the translation 100% accurate and the only way to be sure is to have it proof read by someone who speaks the language, I need to be sure that nothing is lost in translation. The chinese market for pigeon products is vast i a lot of time and money have been invested in the production of this dvd so it has to be right. cheers. Jas. -
Hi all. Are there any chinese fanciers on here that can proof read a chinese manuscript. Ive just produced a new pigeon dvd and have been asked to market it in china, so i have got what is supposed to be the top translation software available and will be doing a transcript of the dvd over the next couple of days. I will then translate it into traditional chinese using the software. what I'm looking for is someone to proof read the chinese against the english translation and to make any corrections to the chinese text, if theres anyone out there that can help i would be glad to give you a copy of the dvd plus rear you a pair of youngsters for your trouble. Pm me if you can help. cheers. Jas.

just to answer your post- you said that owen must have no competition in his club, let me clear that up for you. I along with owen are in the same club, we are 20 plus members strong sending sometimes in excess of 500 birds a week, we have some of the best flyers in south wales including 4 multi - national winning lofts which between them have won in over 15 nationals, including a bicc winner between them. we are one of the strongest clubs anywhere in theses parts. Ive known owen for many years and he is a top fancier, i totally agree with what he is saying why would anyone keep birds that havent raced, chances are you will loose them next year. Just to update everyone owen took the first 8 places in our club today agains excellent competition, and it wasnt just a lucky win he smashed us all, well done mate. Jas.

Last weekend i put all my bricon ets rings on my youngsters, i let them out to exercise as usual, i have my sexes split and the cock chase anything that moves, I live in pontypool south wales and know most of the fanciers in this area well. but on this night my birds were flying with hundreds of birds that were out that night, they flew with them for about an hour and they then started to peal off from the bunch they all landed minus one of my cocks, all the rest of the birds that were flying in the area must have landed to as the skys were clear, 20 minutes later here comes my bird that was away minus his ets ring. Its noway that ring came off when he was exercising, It was clear that he must have landed at a loft in the pontypool area probably chasing hens and someone took off its ets ring and threw it back out, All my birds are clearly wing stamped. Its more about the sportsmanship for me, yes the ring cost £1.20, but i would never tamper with other peoples property, I have reported birds myself this year with ets rings on but i would never take them off. Its only scum that do it, the only way to stop this is make it compulsory that all ets rings be registered to the owner when you buy them. Jas.

just thinking about this, i think we should hold a little competition for the best performance of pigeon in the yougbird season from a bird sold in the sales we had for help the heros, i know not everyone will be racing there birds bought but we can still have a little competition. It can be judged by ian mckay if hes up for the challenge. whats your thoughts gents. Jas.

Got mine from martyn blythe, 2 fantastic youngsters who are flying well at the moment. Im really looking forward to racing them, i would recommend martin to anyone. Jas.

They would not be able to test for salmonella from one source of droppings, The test for salmonella requires 4 dropping samples taken every other day and what happens then is they grow cultures in an oven which takes a few days to grow, the reason for the 4 samples are that pigeons that carry salmonella dont always shed the bacteria every day so a single culture could comeback negative from a pigeon that carries the bacteria , the cost for a salmonella test costs around £50 on its own and you dont get the results for around a week after you send in the sample. If the place that is testing you droppings are tell you they are testing for salmonella when they test for worms and cocci they are lying to you. jas.

Yeah i'll second that, I bought 2 pairs of vanreets from jakjak this year, they have bred some beautiful youngsters this year, i havent raced them yet but know they will do really well. You wont go far wrong with birds from jakjak. Jas.

You weren't by yourselves yesterdays, We were flying with the welsh south rd fed from messac, there were many lofts last night with zero home, i had two on the night and the rest are still working through, not sure what the issue with us were either. Jas.

Hi frank. As owen said theres not much to see there other than food waste. I have included some pics below from my up and coming pigeon health dvd on microscope use, these should show you some of the things you may find. The first is hair worm eggs: The second is round worm eggs, hair worm eggs and cocci in one image: The third is Showing what are called bypolar caps on an hairworm egg, you can clearly see the difference between hairworm and roundworm eggs. This one also has round worm eggs and hairworm eggs in the same pic: Again roundworm and hairworm eggs in the same pic: And finally you can just see a worm to the bottom left of the image. Hope this helps. Will keep you all updated on when the dvd will be available. it will cover lots of aspects of pigeon health plus how to but and use a microscope. Jas.

Getting Yb Back In
holmsidelofts replied to FoxesFan4Ever's topic in Novices, Beginners & Young Fanciers
I always use a dog clicker, you can buy one for £3 at pets at home. Every time i feed them i click the clicker, after a week or so of this as soon as i click the clicker they associate it with food. Feeding them a light digestible food like a diet mix is also the answer. my youngsters are never hungry and will fly for 2 hours plus on a good diat mix. Like others have said cut them down until they start to respond. If i get birds who sit there they dont get fed. I feed the rest, put up the bob wires and they get nothing until the following day. They soon learn when the bellies are empty. I can trap 70 youngsters in 20 secs with this method. Its proven to be the same every year since i have used it to be highly effective. Jas.
