To answer the first question: We us a dog training clicker, we introduce this when they are weaned, every-time they are fed we click the clicker, after about a week they associate the clicker with food, when they are out flying and they land on the loft to come in we open up the traps and literally with 10 secs or so we have 80 youngsters inside the loft. I started to use this last year on the recommendation of my good friend owen elliott, and its fantastic and works incredibly well. Its less noisy than a whistle and doesnt get up your neighbours back. The second question: dont feed them if they land on there, after a while with no food you'll soon stop them. If you have one bird thats dragging them down there, send him to the big loft in the sky, dont sacrifice the team for one bird no matter what its bred from. I also dont feed youngsters if they wont come in on the clicker, any that decide to hang around the loft dont get fed either. you have to be cruel to be kind, because trust me if you have a potential winner sat on the loft on race day you'll soon get strick with it. Heres the clicker i use: You can by them from most pet shops, i bought mine from pets at home and also from amazon: heres the amazon link: click here Jas.
