How come there is two now of BEWARE RATS ABOUT ?
-
Remember once, this time of year talking to the Farmer, when i had to tuck me trousers into me socks quick. 1000'S of rats literually came across the road into the barn. Remember when terriers contests were prevalent with rats.... 100's upon 100's.

Are you currently shaking your head wondering what is going on in the US financial markets? Here is a story that illustrates it nicely. "Once upon a time, in a village, a man appeared and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for £10 each. The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them. The man bought thousands at £10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort. He further announced that he would now buy at £20 for a monkey. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to £25 each, and the supply of monkeys became so small that it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it! The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at £50! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on behalf of him. In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. "Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them to you at £35, and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for £50 each." The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys. They never saw the man nor his assistant again, only monkeys everywhere! Now you have a better understanding of how the stock market works." Also remember that in them circles the man probably was in cahoots and just wanted away from the scam ... and took a holiday while he was at it ... no pun intended lol Have a lovely day

EVERYBODY has at the moment Rats or Mice. Never mind about not seeing any. One or the other, but not both. Rats eat mice, so of course they don't mix. I fortunately have Mice... trapped about 16 so far this past 3 weeks. They will be coming into the House in droves of the fields. When the weather turns cooler in they come. Many of course are residents. Sister in - laws nieghbours told her to stop feeding the Rats on her shed roof. Perplex she said I don't... it was for the Birds of course, but no one told the rats. So you will nigh certainly have one or the other. Mate never believe me ... put some traps outs Rats / Mice... he has mice too.

Nice to see some positives ... pleased infact. I have no doubt that other services will / and have done as such. Even Amtrax did. But unfortunately, as sure as eggs are eggs, they will get swiped at some time in the near future. Just hope that fanciers remember these good posts, and the countless satified customers that will abound. Not used any as such, so have no preferance of course. - Will be hard to decide no doubt when I have to.

Seems that many couldn't get the best out of Alf's bloodlines and many was the fancier that said so. Alfs responce was 'You bought the pigeon... Not me'!

Alan Mark of Sanderstead. Probably one of the most famous pigeons to win the Pau Grand National was Alan Mark’s blue chequer hen, Champion ‘Pauline’, which was finally sold to the Louella Stud in Leicester. This Alf Baker / Jim Reilly hen was clocked on the second day at 13.47hrs. and won £2,000, which was a record amount of cash at that time.

Alf Baker. It's the pigeon equivalent of "getting back to your roots." Though domestic pigeons have been bred in an almost unimaginable variety of colors and shapes, feral pigeons - the escapees, refugees, or cast offs from the domestic cornucopia - return quickly, within a generation or two, and almost universally to the mixed shades of grey, black, and blue that their wild ancestor the Rock Dove [columba livia] has worn for millennia. That is not to say they are drab, the close observer will see the fine play of color that cloaks a perfect "blue bar" pigeon, the color that racing great Alf Baker once referred to as a bag of gold dust, the pearlescent hue of the blue, the glowing purple and green of the iridescent neck feathers.

I made my stall traps out of plastic, and just glued them together. Plastic is only any good OUTSIDE the loft, better weather wise. Worse thing I ever done nigh was have plastic inside, perches etc. Wood re - eacts better to the elements which is all important. Not meaning V perches of course. Thought I'd be able to just hose the inside out! Could to, but you can also with Waxed wood of course (Golly is there no ending to the wonders of bees eh!) so I went back to that. Have just replace 3/4 of the air vent for cladding for the winter. But will be making an Air Vent outside door, and inside door will be replaced with just wired frames. All my doors are sliders.

Yeah I'd stop them when I could find them... and ask how to do it lol ;D ;D

Alf Bakers... Louella actually sold some of this strain to the Begiums. And they won Nationals with one etc.

Well I would 'Skint' the imcompetent Fat Cat's, I.e. take a very large propotion of their personal wealth back, and place that back into the coffers, before I bunged any money back in to counteract their' greed that left us to pick up their tabs and that's for sure. Likewise the Railways. They bought it for a song - like other national silverware - then have us paying even more tax payers money into it EVERY week, and still have fat incentive payments etc. The main incentive I'd give them is 'Make it pay, or I'll take the wealth back off you and give to be run. Yes might still lose a bit of taxpayers money, but not as much, and NO big fat cats licking up the ceam they haven't earn, and that's for sure

Oh I will do lol don't freet on that lol ;D ;D And I'd believe that I would be getting the real deal answer Thanks

Very good post! Merlin the very first sentence of your's say's it all. Until they are bound, and do actually show, have to show the votes on each and any proposition we will struggle I believe. Love as many £1's as delegates etc. have gone and disregarded the members choice and voted 'To Please'! I'd be on a permnat holiday lol.

Golly only a few 'English Grammer'mistakes lol ;D ;D

Yes a sensible, worthwhile with merit NATIONAL most weeks!
-
Well further why is it not pratical to have clubs part of an Amal, then Part of a Combine and ALL part of a National or larger concern nigh EVERY week? ... Or at least as soon as the distance makes it practical and sensible. I mean ok Sennon Cove @ 39 miles is an idiatic stupidity . But some got some store by it! But Each Club / Fed could / would soon be part of a Combine etc. and it would mean surely, with the great number of entries, have a vastly more meriteous reason to race, to win. And even in the 'Own little Pools' creedancce would be acheived every wek the same. And sections would also then be more worthwhile attaining. Ok so those in a more favourable location with A. have a little more competition etc. BUT they would still be doing the goods, and again gain a vast amount more creedance and merit. Golly wouldn't be hard if only the Secs got tto speak to each over. Soon Fed reps and such. Could well be up and running next year. Never mind any extra or hard work. It wouldn't entail a lot more that what is happening now. Costs would be halved at least and EVERY flyer every week nigh would have a chance of achieving a worthwhile mention and Knownability if there is such a word! As for the farness of sections, Well it would necessarily mean that your fed would ALL be enclosed in the same Amal, or Section. Sections can be quite easierly placed via a oblong square being placed N. West to South East upon a map, reverse for South roads.. Ok a few teething problems. But length instead of the STUPID width could and should be done away with. Corridor flying is mentioned. But more importantly, facing wind. No needn't change the sections for different Race points... But again, certainly different race points could, and should be at least considered and voted on. Ok, again in regards voting. Club votes, and these must be discussed and voted democratically at the clubs. Same all the way up, with 2/3 chosen club members with different objectives to see that the vote is honest and correct. And none of the delegates coming back and saying such as 'Well I know when I left I was to vote... But so and so, or such and such meant it wasn't. blah blah whatever. Same all the way up. AND further each and every club etc. has a recorded published record of how they did actually vote. None of this 21/2/3 members counting and declaring as such! Indeed time it was got on with I reckon. Indeed why isn't voting as such!
