  1. after seeing the full result one word PHENOMENAL. well done mr&mrs tasker.
  2. i would love to but don't think i will make it this time,i'll find out next friday. i never usually miss, but with living so close to b'pool i've been on that many nights out around there it's not the same buzz as it is for most of you,who only go the once a year.
  3. you would need more than ten to be tipsy, beer in b'pool is like nats pi**.
  4. can't for the life of me understand why you have addressed the above post to me. all i did was post some info from DR colin walkers book, the flying vets pigeon health management. also they give it by way of eye drops.
  5. couldn't say,a lot of great flyers have never even entered national races.
  6. cortisone stops the birds moulting it's also an anti inflammatory meaning pigeons on it will fly longer without getting sore.it is also a mood altering drug making pigeons fly for fun. but in time your birds will be goosed.
  7. tie a screw on a piece of string move it from side to side above the base of the tail.if the string stays swinging from side to side it's a cock if it starts to circle it's a hen.never been wrong for me.
  8. if it hasn't bred anything, what have you to loose? but then again you have only bred of him for one year.you could regret it.

    Mardon Van Reets

agree widow. they must be the best breeding team of van reets, they seem to be winning all over the uk.
  12. we have been having them for donkey's. i wouldn't be far out if i said the uk have about 15+ a year. i don't read about that many winners but i'm led to belive they make good money.
  13. the beaverdam invasion has started again, three sale in this weeks bhw.
  14. see your pm
  15. try michael spencer gisburn nr clitheroe.about 40 min's from b'pool by road. he has to give up pigeons due to poor health, his family of distance pigeons have been the best 700mile birds in lancashire for some time. look at his results at this link. http://www.nationalflyingclub.co.uk/ResultsForm.asp
  16. it might of had a bump?
  17. don't think it makes much difference, the one thing i find that does help is moving the old birds and shutting there boxes.then when young cocks have claimed a box i return the old cocks a couple at a time.
  18. yes you can john, the following link has some info by fanciers that have done. i'm in two minds as to whether to do my y/b's next season.i've had the vaccine in the fridge for two years and not done them. http://andygalley.freemyforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=36
  19. lets hope it's the many members who never send.
  20. don't rate it,myself.
  21. we haven't had any problems since 1998,this year we have had problems.we have done all the same things so i don't know if you can prevent it.if your going to get it you get it! the prob's we had were birds not hungry one or two not digesting corn and not flying.we didn't feed for 48 hours then started them on a diet mix increasing the amount daily while adding protien. they are flying and looking well at the moment. a friend from holland has told me a lot of fanciers there are vaccinating the young for paramyxovirus twice one month apart as a prevention and it's working.
  22. your old mans right, paulo. if i was you i would keep just racing birds (no stock). after they had raced for 3 or 4 seasons you would know your best birds to breed from.
