Never done this with young birds - but the old birds get trained from the 'wrong' direction every year - 15-20 miles two or 3 times a week
-
You need Internet Explorer 7
-
it doesn't contain B12 But I don't think anybody said it does - it contains B1 B2 and B6 - or atleast the one I've got does

They'll be scratching each others eyes out - cos they'll all want the good looking one (evil)
-
Best way - is have all red hens and blue or blue cheq cocks then you'll have red or mealie cocks - and blue or blue chequer hens (evil) in theory it has worked 100% so far - but I don't have many reds - and it doesn't work the other way round (with red cocks !!)

Taken from DEFRA site 1. “Captive birds†are considered to be the types of birds usually kept as a hobby, for pleasure, scientific interest or sport, including racing pigeons and birds of prey. 3. “Poultry†is defined in Council Directive 90/539/EEC (as amended) as fowl, turkeys, guinea fowl, ducks, geese, quails, pigeons (not racing pigeons), partridges and ratites. These species are not permitted to be imported as “captive or pet birds†but must instead meet the requirements laid down in Community law for imports of live poultry (see IIN A/6).

I think its 5 if you are referring to numbers from Defra site What are the controls on pet bird imports from within the EU? The import of 5 or fewer pet birds from another EU Member State does not require a licence or quarantine as long as the birds are not poultry. They must also not be intended for commercial purposes. If the bird species are poultry then the birds must be imported under poultry rules. If there are 6 or more non-poultry birds then they must come under the captive bird rules. What are the controls on imports of captive birds from within the EU? Captive birds are defined under EU rules as non-poultry birds. There is no prohibition on movements within the EU of captive birds from anywhere outside disease restricted areas. An Intra Trade Animal Health Certificate is required for commercially traded psittacines, such as parrots and cockatiels.

Northern Ireland or Southern Ireland (not that I can help - but different rules might apply) Bringing birds from Belgium to England - all you needed was a vaccination sheet from the country of origin (Belgium) showing that the birds had their PMV vaccine

Don't think thats the correct number now for the NFC
-
http://www.rpra.org/Default.aspx?tabid=100 Scroll down the page to report - the RPRA usually e-mail with a contact telephone number for the registered owner of the bird - and follow it up in writing they're usually pretty good - I never phone to report birds - its so much easier and less frustraing reporting on-line
-
there's been posts on them before- and there are some short films on you tube

SW107 WARMINSTER S R F C Mr Burgess, 16 Princecroft, Warminster, Wiltshire BA12 8NT. Tel: 01985 214781 I'm not from that area so I don't know what Fed etc
-
You would be correct in your thinking Alan the one with the higher birdage would have the better co-efficient Now I personally wouldn't be sending - not this year anyway so wouldn't be taking part - I'm just sticking my nose in for a fair way of working out the best method to come up with the best pigeon !! 1st out of 1000 birds would still be better than say 12th out of 10000 but 2nd out of 1000 birds would not be
-
The only way to work out fairly would be on co-efficients - the number of birds in the race and position of yours whether its club fed combine or national velocities are no good - unless its the same race point, same day

You can race young birds in the old bird programme in the NEHU Personally I don't see a problem - as its highly unlikely they'll have the young birds left from the old bird programme to fly the young bird programme East winds and all that ...................
-
NEHU FUT rings continue to win prize money in NEHU races for their lifetime - so you haven't got much chance I am afraid
-
Racing pigeon pictorial international - to give it its full name is still on the go
-
Its a pied isn't it ? so that doesn't necessarily follow "the rule" Show us a full pic - or I'm not playing (evil)

Their Natural products (Naturaline, Brewers yeast etc) are also cheaper if you buy there - and they sell baskets at great prices (to bring your youngsters home (evil) ) I bought a 10 bird basket for £16 they take euros or sterling

Brian Wall (Gem supplements) posted on here some time ago and told you how to make it can't remember the exact recipe - but we buy a large bag of beyers bleu grit (25kg) and in a matrix tub (evil) add one and a half tins of grit - one clay block - 2 ounces of pink minerals and 2 ounces of black minerals the grit and the pink minerals have aniseed in them it might not be as tasty as matrix - but its a lot cheaper
