  6. I think we discussed this before- and its not licenced here
  7. Reminds me of a fancier who got one of our yearling hens in - 'lovely hen' he said 'beautiful' (yes he was from Norfolk) said he was going to put her up 50 miles down the road (I didn't ask him to) took her a week to get home - by which time I'd lost the bit of paper I wrote his number down on (shrug) worse still - I've still got her (she is a beautiful hen - just pretty useless)
  8. Colombovac PMV is always running out - however it has a much longer shelf life than Nobivac - the last lot our pigeon club bought for last years young birds had a use by date of Oct 2010 - so there may be some in stock somewhere - such as the site Fife_Flyer put on - but at a price - I think we paid the same for 100 dose as they are charging for 50 dose
  9. You seem to be on a mission Dave (evil) But this one - finally topping the combine from Bourges at the age of 7 - gets my vote How many people have 7 year old racers in their loft?
  10. This particular conversion HAS NOT BEEN PASSED BY THE NEHU so at the moment - no organisation has actually passed this type of conversion - so please be aware should you intend to purchase
  11. I have had one training toss when the sun and moon were out together and I wouldn't do it again !! 30 birds - only one back on the day - although the rest came in dribs and drabs the following day - it was only noticed after the birds had been put up - by me at the home end
  12. I don't know about your version - but you're a bit behind the times -the NEHU passed the use of T3's to be used without thimbles or conversion - at fliers own risk
  13. yes it would - late breds usually retain some of their nest flights
  14. Ménage à trois (evil)
  15. can't you put it on you tube?
  16. We had a cock that always had greasy wattles - and was treat for respiratory - but the greasiness returned almost immediately - he would be sent to a race and come back with gleaming white wattles - only for the greasiness to return before basket day - but again clean wattles on return from a race - it was mentioned to a fancier ( whose young bird we got in) and he said it was a calcium deficiency - so the birds have been given a small amount of calcium twice a week - as well as grit - and he has never had greasy wattles since
  17. the magnification of the eyepiece multiplied by the magnification of the lower lens - they should all be numbered with their magnification ie - eyepiece is x5 lower lens is x10 magnification = x50 eyepiece x10 lower lens x40 magnification = x400

  19. I wear glasses - was told not to wear them when using microscope - but then have this problem - eyelashes - when you wear glasses you don't have the problem with the eyelashes !! Its just another method - flotation is fine but you might not catch the floaters !! (evil)
  20. I would suspect you have used the flotation method for the above an alternative method is to mix a sample in some water thoroughly mix and place a drop on the slide - it doesn't have to be covered with a cover slip - but would save contaminating your lens if it you used a cover slip - this method produces a denser sample and there will be more to see under the microscope - also - make a note of the magnification of your photos - as that also helps in the identification - some things can be seen clearly at x40 others at x100 and some things are best seen at x400
  21. I have used chinese herbs myself as a 'last resort' treatment some years ago - and decided I'd rather be ill !! They tasted foul !!! (mallow root - and some other stuff....(dizzy) ) But I haven't used any on the pigeons - and I'm sure there's lots of stuff I give them that I wouldn't find palatable
  22. Inconclusive from one off your photos - this looks like starch - otherwise you can't see if there is anything else there - take some more samples
