  6. I haven't had much experience with long distance races, having only sent these past 2 seasons - but I came to a conclusion that is probably the opposite of everybody elses LOL !!! The cocks did better on natural last year than the hens, and the hens did better on roundabout this year - than the hens on natural the year before, the cocks didn't perform at all from the distance on roundabout - in fact the majority didn't even bother coming home - whereas we only lost one hen from the distance racing roundabout So next year cocks will be raced natural from the distance - but the hens will be on roundabout
  7. its a swap..............
  8. my 84 year old mother is staying with me at the moment - recovering following a fall - fractured shoulder - and while in hospital they fitted a pace maker as well - she's running about in a short nightie creating mayhem (dizzy)(smartyp)

  11. Is there one on here? I've fitted a new timer to my Worcester 24i boiler Red light is flashing though - and boiler will not ignite (it wasn't a problem before (dead)(kewl) ) I've switched it on and off several times leaving several minutes - but it won't fire up (it is making some noises - but not the 'fire up' one LOL !!) HELP ............
  12. I have insulated the internal walls between sections - but it was more for sound reduction - so the cocks couldn't hear the hens (and I used the inch thick polystyrene)
  13. Here is a bit of reading on streptoccocus Billy http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dbmd/diseaseinfo/groupastreptococcal_g.htm

  15. A hen Nigel gifted me is the dam of a hen who has 2 x 2nds (beaten by loftmates) and a 5th Club (3rd fed and 12th fed also 63rd combine 12000 + birds - 392 miles - Van de Weyer) Thanks Nigel
  16. Thanks Andy - feel welcome to come and fit my ETS (evil)(evil)
  17. This was our first season using a converted T3 and a T3 with inserts - I managed to jam the converted one Much as I hate to admit it - it was my fault (kewl) My right hand (on the plunger) was quicker than my left hand (the one with the race rubber) and it wasn't fully in the chamber - thanks to a member in the fed- who persevered in trying to unjam the clock - we still topped the Fed
  18. he's in Redcar - lives not far from me (is the next fancier to me....)
  19. Haven't noticed any this morning Dave - birds are out at the moment - better warn the other half

  21. 21st November 2009 I'll be there - see you there Harry (kewl), you can get the money off clockman to buy me a drink (evil), milk - one sugar (hehe)
  22. You'll go blind Andy (evil) Have you tried that programme 'the farmer wants a wife' (shrug)(shrug)(evil) - I think you get the choice of 4 (there's bound to be one who can fit into a pair of figure hugging knickers that will finish below her navel)
  23. Son of D has not scored, and was in fact paired to F this year - their youngster was lost off the loft (the other was given away) Thanks for your input IB - It's much appreciated
  24. I didn't particularly want to pair related pigeons together. I suppose you could say it's an experiment - as that is all our breeding seems to have been to date. Sire A is a prisoner stock bird - and is only filling 50% of eggs - he also has no hen at the moment. We have 3 pairs of prisoner stock that are old - and a friend is taking them to help us out and give him an interest - we are putting some of the racers to stock, so eventually they will all be able to fly out
