  17. just had a wee look at the classes and with me flying this year with Glasgow fed most of my doos will not qualify!!!!!which is a shame will still enjoy the day.
  18. this is a pity m8 as this imo is a wee bit early.
  19. Gareth what you mean is in your opinion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!unfortunately it could just be guys like yourself who are stuck in the 70s and will not move with the times that are killing distance racing, take the blinkers off big guy. ;)WE MUST CATER FOR ALL. ;)
  20. good post IB,too many guys thinking of the glory days of the 60s and 70s,changed days,we must cater for all,i wonder how many guys on here and SNFC members sent to all the channel races????? the SNFC programme at the start of this thread has the first national on 22/06/13 which imo would have very little impact on club and fed racing. ;)
  21. some good points Jade and like yourself dont think the inland nationals have killed the GOLD CUP race, times have changed and more fanciers want one day racing not waiting all weekend to maybe get a doo or maybe not,(which i do often and will continue to do!!!!!!!)i have commented on this subject many times and think the SNFC have a good programme with races at 300miles,400miles,460miles,530miles,550miles and 630mls to central scotland,in these trying times for every sport not just pigeon racing i think the SNFC offers something for EVERY FANCIER which i believe is key for us to keep testing our birds at national level,ps myself and my father get as much enjoyment timing national birds from 300miles as we do at 630miles. :partick-thistle-Crest: but would you go john?????? ;)
  22. it does work geo!!!!!!!! imo.
  23. well good luck m8,i do think the secret is to have a wee gang and treat them all the same, some guys take 2 or 3 l/breds and let them kick about all winter with the old birds and them fire them into the first old bird races losing them and saying latebreds are a waste of time!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
  24. have 18 latebreds this year and have just started training them from 5 miles, will train them right through the winter on any dry days up to 25 miles, fed training in april and raced down to 280 miles next year.we have done this for a number of years and have had some very good success with these latebreds in later years racing with the SNFC scoring from newbury, eastbourne x3 bovingdon, marlbourgh, cheltenham x2 and alencon, one wee l/b hen scored 4 times at the national.imo worth a wee gang!!!!! ;)
