have been at national meetings since the 80s and whenever there has been a contensious issue emotions tend to run high,i dont think the meeting was rowdy but maybe an additional mike with someone under the presidents instruction passed to the person on the floor would have helped!! high school and football stadium auditoriums have been used lately and we usually avoid these problems and maybe being in a primary school gym hall did not help!!

yep well done big phil carrying on at the top table,but lets not kid ourselves there was no stampede for the hot seat!!! a good figure head for the national but chairing a meeting today imo he was not at his best!

did go on a bit Stuart but listened to wee Jim last night at Airdrie and he also can waffle!!!! but common sense did prevail after all.

dont be feeling sorry for him wul as he still has a few fingers in pies!!!! :lol:

great stuff m8,Willie ONeill raced some cracking doos over the years also winning the west section from Rennes in later life,his main bloodlines were from great friend Davie Forsyth of Paisley whose family of birds went back to the blood of Dr Anderson,great flyer from the past of scottish national racing. :)

JUST HAD A LOOK ON THE SNFC WEBSITE AT EVERY RACE (2-3 RACES MISSING FROM SITE)FROM 2005 TO THE CURRENT AND HAVE ADDED ALL POSITIONS WON IN THE TOP TEN OPEN AND WHAT SECTION THESE WINNING BIRDS FLY INTO,I HAVE NOT INCLUDED BIRDAGES,MEMBERS,SECTION SIZES ETC JUST THE AMOUNT OF TOP TEN OPEN FINISHES FOR EACH SECTION.DID GET A SLIGHT EYE OPENER BUT NOT UNEXPECTED,HOPE THIS IS OF SOME INTEREST. :) SECTION A = 124 TOP TEN OPEN POSITIONS. Great stuff m8, the winner was johnny Mitchell from Bishopbriggs not far from us here,he was a great friend of the legendary english fancier Fred Marriot,johnnys brother Charlie was our club secretary for years and i do remember getting off the school bus and going to Charlies as mrs Mitchell always made lovely cakes!!!!!! fantastic memories,ps the birds at this race were convoyed by air,Logie Davidson who was 2nd open (top fancier) was a previous SNFC convoyer. :)
