  1. having watched this thread with great admiration i thought with a bit of research some of the named and unnamed fanciers could recieve a mention, having only the last 7 years snfc results to hand i have only used results from over 500mls and only positions won in the top 10 in the west section, each of the following fanciers listed have 3 or more top 10 positions from 500miles,in no particular order, J&J GILLON MOTHERWELL,J COSGROVE&SON LESMAHAGOW,G ORR EAGLESHAM,MR&MRS D ELLIOT NEWBIGGIN,W MCGAFFNEY LESMAHAGOW,WILSON&JACK LANARK,J CALLAN LESMAHAGOW,J&J HOOD MILTON OF CAMPSIE,J CULLEN UDDINGSTON,AK LOCKHART LARKHALL,J OHARA & SON ALLANTON,G RANKIN & SON LARKHALL,J NEWBIGGIN LARKHALL,G HARRIS DUNIPACE,D&L HAY KIRKINTILLOCH,J HOUSTON GREENGAIRS,J HANNAH BLANTYRE,N ORR LARKHALL,J&A STOKES CARSTAIRS,THOMSON BROS FORTH AND J CLARK AIRDRIE. i could have used other stats but being a distance club this was where to start. no top fancier, but i will say the most top 10 finishes was a very impressive 11. :) :)good luck all snfc fanciers for 2009. :)
  2. yeah had some real disasters recently, lymm putting the tin lid on it 1st & 2nd club that day were a 7 yr old and a 5yr old cock who had both taken top snfc positions from over 550mls, says it all,as for the poor doos in the yb leyland race i verified "only the lonely" it was that wet there was a wee pool of water on its perch!!!!!!!!!!!! 1home from over 1000 birds, yes a disaster. :o
  3. homer 49 & alf maybe a wee bit thick, newbury 6th june not sure how this works????
  4. yep looking good. :) :)
  5. stayed at the travel inn which was very good, right next to bloomfield rd, went to the footie blackpool 2 birmingham 0 (bmhm very poor) still enjoyed the game. :)
  6. yes it will be a big ask to slow up the deficit of the last few years, transportation will be looked at,the young bird and late bred sales also with great scope hopefully to redress the bottom line, the committee and top table all experienced fanciers will only be as good as the support they get from the members. :)snfc looking forward for 2009.
  7. hotrod what information are you looking for??.i will try and help you.
  8. hotrod certainly not on to slag anyone,i have posted before regarding the increase on fanciers today having a go at the nationals more so since the split, dont really know the reason, one idea i have is that club and fed fanciers who do not normally send have been sending to the inland nationals and ybn which i feel has acted as a steping stone to 500 mile races and now with so many feds racing inland with the nationals fanciers can have the best of club, fed combine & national together. :)
  9. john houston pres dr p lynch svp r combe jvp
  10. no not at all,i think smaller convoys over the years have provided the west section with national winners ie jock cosgrove & ian mcgee come to mind, this year 2 wins in the snrpc in the west at the distance with small convoys.certainly in my area there are now fanciers racing and winning with the snrpc that had previously never competed at national level, which is good.
  11. dr lynch chaired the meeting very well, onwards and upwards for the snfc.
  12. sorry sapper twas me that mentioned dodgy clubs, will be at yates wine lodge 8ish sat night.
  13. alf fill your boots, lanarkshire fed & snfc rolled into one ,wish it was me :'( :'(
  14. dont think bart was saying you were a one off, only one gold cup snfc winner in the west section in 30 years tells a story,i think in the snrpc with the smaller convoys you have a better chance of a top position.
  15. maybe see you there. ;) ;D ;D.
  16. you lanarkshire boys are in a great position, spoilt for choice,as gareth says why not put both races in your programme, transport is sorted!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) ;)
  17. going with my wee brother and 4 pals so will end up in some strange places,2 of the boys like roxys ;)think it might be a bit dodgy though
  18. ypres last year was a great race for the few lanarkshire fed fanciers who gave it a go g bain,j cullen & j gillon and also jim hannah had great returns, belgium has given us good racing for the few races we have had. ;) ;)
  19. del your a big boy and dont think anyone will abuse you unless you ask them. ;D have read some of "ASHAS" posts and he appears to be insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. john definately buys his own bhw, this was mentioned in his last article but seems to have been missed when editing !!!!!
  21. spoke to john harwood tonight at great length and dont think he will write again for the bhw, john has for the past year been putting an article in every fortnight and i think is a bit miffed at the bhw attitude believe me john gets no help from the paper no writing paper, stamps or envelopes and even has to buy his own bhw,i think these small things annoy john and who can blame him,the time and effort he puts in to articles,he also said he only kept going lately because he gets so many calls and letters from the fancy wishing him well with his column.just hope he reconsiders!!!! :-/ :-/as for the comments of "asha" 1st 2nd 4th and 5th section from 5 national races 2008 mr J HARWOOD," ASHA" your a complete NUMPTY.
  22. travel inn.great breakfast.
  23. not sure if you can put 1997 against 2008, one more inland national in 08, gold cup 1997 up against 08,last channel race 08 up on last channel race 97. ps 1997 was the worst post war gold cup race with only 21 birds in race time which must have effected the last channel race.!!!!
  24. 26 racing cocks 30 racing hens 55 young birds split 20 on darkness, remaining 30 nat. old birds flown on nat. all yearlings to coast 380,old birds 500 plus.youngbirds 160mls,darkness yb nat 270mls,heres hoping. ps some l/breds trained raced lightly.
  25. drying now in west central scotland. :)
